She actually reports that she knows LBY will be causing trouble at Ling Yi's banquet. How she figured it out I kind of missed, but she does. She heads to Ling Yi mansion in the late night and witnesses part of the massacre. She is horrified as she sees her fiance who is covered in blood. She tries to stop him but LBY is lost in a murderous trance. Then the horse scene happens but in the book, he throws SS off the horse into a haystack before he falls off a cliff. SS gets injured from the fall and LBY falls and is trapped in a little cave. All the ministers want to impeach him and during this time, he is still stuck in the cave. The truth is revealed that he is actually the uncle's son and the day his father was killed by Ling Yi, he was actually hiding in the closet. Did you all notice when LBY asked SS when she was removing the arrow who gave her the string, and if it was someone she liked. When she said yes, LBY frowned, but when she said it was from Qiqi, you can see a small smile on his face. I had to watch it a few times to catch it because of the lighting lol.
I have to say WL has some magic in his acting, it's his eyes, his expressions...I find I have to keep rewatching all his scenes! it was the same in TLB as well. He really puts all his emotions into each scene. He doesn't overact but his eyes speak a thousand words. Somehow when LBY and SS are in a scene together, it feels like time stops. The bgm is also so good whenever it's their sscenes <3 Although they haven't had a tonne of screen time together, the director made every scene together very memorable. I actually like the slow burn romance. I find some shows where the ML and FL end up together too fast, all they do is bicker and have misunderstandings, or some 3rd party seeps in to cause trouble. This way is good :)
The marriage proposal scene was upsetting cuz it felt like LBY, the emperor and her parents were taking away all…
I feel like LBY was going to propose sooner or later but seeing how she was bullied so bad, I think it was his intention then to do it in public as a way to glorify her, and to show the world she is an important person to him so she doesn't get bullied anymore. At least that's what I felt but SS and her parents were dumbfounded. He also has shown his love quite obviously all this time so it's possible he thinks SS should know but she is actually completely clueless lol.

I can imagine his revenge will be really devastating for SS because this whole time, she is basically slowly being groomed on how to be a good wife to LBY. I have a feeling his revenge will take place later in the second season but I'll know better once I am further in the book!
