Did Dylan's acting improve drastically since his last drama or maybe the directing of Miss the Dragon was just poor? He's sooo much better here!

What makes WL's acting even more impressive is that he hasn't really filmed any romantic dramas so for him to portray someone so deeply in love is really something else. I am trying to think of other dramas where the ML is deeply in love with the FL, like AOL, TMPB, ALP and I gotta say, WL is topping all of them. I am rewatching parts of TLB which I think he did an incredible job in but he has really gone up a notch with LLTG. The intensity of his eyes and facial expressions definitely surpass Ashile Sun and they are very different characters. He also lost quite a bit of weight for LLTG. In the novel, Zisheng it always portrayed as a male goddess general who is slender. Meanwhile, for Ashile Sun's role I think he had to bulk up. ZLS also definitely shone in LLTG and her acting has improved a lot. She is showing more complexities in this drama, inner struggles and she portrays every scene so well. It's unbelievable how young and accomplished these two actors are. I will be sad in September when the drama is over. Hopefully something really good comes out then to fill the void in my heart lol.

It's actually the other way around. In the novel, LBY purposely keeps LJT around as a cover for himself so the emperor doesn't try to hold SS back for him. He feels really guilty and only wants SS to find happiness and be safe. He already knows LJT is evil so he uses her. Don't worry, our ML is always many steps ahead! LJT will meet her demise in the drama.

I have to say the Crown Prince has a nice voice though! This is the first time hearing his voice since he's dubbed in all the other dramas I've watched with him

What happened to the ratings??

I did an episode prediction a few days ago and the pacing is quite right. Every episode covers approximately 4 chapters of the book so everything is on pace. They should only be separated for 1-2 episodes based on the book and he will be back after 5 years. and there should still be 6-8 episodes left for their reconciliation.

I am trying to do an episode prediction of what will come when based on the book. I think the previews up to episode 36 match up to Chapter 99-100 in the book. I have a feeling Chapter 101 when LBY gets caned will be episode 37 next week. Given there are 20 episodes left and the SS/LBY's breakup happens Chapter 140, I think episode 47-48ish will be when our hearts will break if they distribute the novel evenly with the episodes. SS and LBY see each other again in Chapter 151 so they may be apart for about 2-3 episodes. Maybe around EP 50-51 they will see each other again and it will take the rest of the episodes to reconcile. I am not sure if I should take a pause and accumulate some episodes because it will be a tough August lol. I am trying to find other things to watch to delay myself but every Tues/Wed/Thurs, I find the first thing I do is check if the episodes have been released. Sigh...

Oh she is bad...you will see in the coming episodes. She tries to kill SS after LBY's return due to jealousy but she meets a very horrible end...

In the novel, I think SS actually hides this from him and LBY gets upset with her. SS always wants to deal with situations herself.

In the book the 5 years passes very quickly and it takes quite a while for them to reconcile so don't worry. I don't think there will be a long separation time during the drama.

The piggyback scene was honestly one of the funniest scenes. I don't know how Wu Lei kept a straight face and his poor ears! lol

Wow episode 27 when SS was thinking whether she should get married or not to LBY was phenomenal. The director compiled pretty much the best scenes all together as her memories, it made me tingle. That honestly could be the ending credits of this series. Also the hurt in LBY's eyes when she told him she wants a life without him was sooo sad...but it's ok LBY, you will be happier in episode 28!
