It’s better than nothing, at least they’re in the same frame🥲https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4806102066401150
Being a celebrity is a privilege but pretty sad. I don't see this kind of avoidance between actors/actresses in Hollywood. It would be great if fan culture or whatever it is allows for costars to hang out, remain as friends but it looks like a lot of asian stars have to isolate themselves from others to avoid rumours. It must be hard maintaining even friendships when they are so protected and surrounded by bodyguards. With fame comes a lost of freedom...this reminds me of WYB and XZ. So sad...I can imagine spending months with someone everyday, there must be quite a bond but then having to treat each other like strangers after is just so cold.

I think they are even better than many of the veteran actors! Their roles were difficult and required so much versatility and growth. I actually cannot think of any veteran actors who could have done a better job than them in LLTG tbh. They should win best actor/actress but they may not get it because they are so young. I think early success may not always be a good thing but we know in our hearts they are the best! Lol

I gotta say ZLS's acting really shone in TLB and LLTG. Her acting is far better than many of the other lead actresses I have seen. So many get typecasted into the same roles over and over. The cool thing with her is she can be cute, serious, commanding, vulnerable, funny, and pitiful. She hasn't been typecasted thankfully and I really think she had breakthrough performances in TLB and LLTG. I was a bit worried after several of her earlier dramas that she would always be casted for silly, cute roles but she chose her works really well. She has pulled off some of the most heartwrenching scenes in Cdrama, as well as some of the cutest and funniest ones. Good for her! She also acts humbly, gentle and kind to her costars. No diva behaviour at all despite her success. I hope she continues on this path and keep choosing scripts that portray different sides of her acting as she is so versatile.

Is this better or Ashes of Love? Is Yang Zi portraying the same, cutesy kind of character or something different. I really like her but I am kind of tired of her roles, they seem very repetitive. I really want to see her take on more serious roles. I liked her in Legend of Chusen. Although she wasn't the lead, she was cold and serious and she acted it very well! I just don't want her typecasted always in the very cutesy, immature kind of roles such as Oath of Love. Sorry if this offends any fans. I am a fan! Lemme know your thoughts on this drama as I haven't started it yet.

Great comparison! For all those differences you mentioned, I prefer the novel to the drama in this last part.…
Agree with you both. In the book LBY remains pretty domineering while in the drama, he is portrayed being a lot more remorseful.. SS is also a lot more solemn in the drama after the 5 year separation but in the book, she remains pretty spunky. I think the director wanted to show more character development and growth in their characters especially after all the traumas they went through. He also simplified the story quite a bit after the 5 years, maybe to make it more digestible as you say.

Interesting from episode 47 onwards as they actually changed a lot from the book. The separation in the book was actually more dramatic and sad. Their reconcilation also took significantly more effort in the book. I like the changes but can't say I don't miss some of the scenes in the novel. For instance, in the novel, SS was hiding behind the curtain when the Empress asked LBY if he had decided to abandon SS and he said Yes. They then raise the curtain and he sees SS. He gets really emotional and tries to go to her but is restrained by all the eunuchs. SS also was injured during the rescue so she was in a pretty pitiful state by that point and after she leaves, YS sees her and that is when he fully falls in love with her. They portrayed SS to be more mature, calm and composed in the drama. After 5 years, in the book LBY actually shamelessly starts to pursue SS again, behaving as if no one in the world matters but in the drama, he is very restrained, with a lot of guilt and shame. In the book, SS and LBY get into a big physical fight and LBY gets angry SS's bite is fading and he bites her again but they replaced it with LBY rescuing SS from LJT. In the book, SS actually saves herself from LJT's ploy so they changed it. She also didn't die falling off a cliff but was killed by WLJ later. In the novel, LBY really had to slowly win SS's heart back and their scenes together were more dramatic but they changed it in the drama to SS having LBY in her heart the whole time. In the book, she does everything she can to forget about him. SS is much more understanding in the drama. I have mixed feelings about the changes but they made it logical in the drama. Nonetheless, it was an amazing drama. I wish they showed the epilogue and them getting married and having kids. I think the drama needed one more episode. Thanks to everyone for accompanying me in watching this drama! Will miss the forum here.

Because I could have sworn his aunt was faking it the whole time but now it seems like she really is nuts
She knows LBY is not her son when she rescues him and she knows her own son died which probably drove her to insanity. Hence she will mistaken LBY as her brother sometimes, and sometimes her son.
