I think a lot of people are annoyed with LTG but on the contrary, I LOVE his scenes! He's so obsessive and crazy, I love it! His acting is soooo good. He can go from being hopelessly crazy in love to serious and emotionally controlled within a few seconds. I find his scenes so captivating, and I feel for him. Even the ML and FL tolerate him to some extent given his deep, sincere affections - he really can't help himself! I hope somehow him and the princess fall in love with each other in the future. He deserves some happiness!

What a great drama from beginning to end. The romance was off the charts. I don't remember any ancient drama with so many intimate scenes and they were done so well. The love felt so authentic and passionate and the FL and ML have an explosive connection on-screen. Even off-screen they are super sweet together. Xu Kai's acting improved a lot in this drama. I really disliked Perfect Husband, it was so boring but this is 1000x better. I also enjoyed that they had lots of screen time, no annoying side couples that hogged too much screen time which was great. The story was so satisfying. There were humourous, anxsy, tragic, romantic and thrilling moments. Every character had good character development. They managed to squeeze all of this within 40 episodes which I commend. And finally for once in C-drama land, we finally get a complete ending that is not rushed!! Bravo to the whole team on this project! I hope the ratings go up. I think it deserves an 8.5-8.6 and I really think Xu Kai and Jing Tian should be nominated for their acting!

That means there might be a million side couples that we as audiences have no interest in! I can't stand a lot of modern dramas as they seem to fill in so much time with unnecessary and irrelevant storylines. I fastforwarded 80% of Only for Love. The story was so bad. What a waste of talent for Bailu and Dylan.

Not at all. There's a lot more action and battle scenes. It's more like Long Ballad imo with the focus on the military and the nation.

I liked the actor in LLTG but man do I hate him here!

Yah this phone interruption is so excessive. I find I am fastforwarding a lot as I don't really care about the other couples. ML and FL don't really have a lot of scenes together and I have found a lot of their scenes awkward, that's my opinion. there's always an annoying interruption and their interruption seems so choppy. I can't say I like BL's character very much in this drama.

Does anyone know the story based on the novel? Saw the trailers, it looks so tense! Will it be a HE or SE?

I agree, I would have given this drama at least an 8.4-8.5!

I do have a question, is there any relationship between the fox demon that tortured XY for 30 years and Jing who is a nine-tailed fox? Why is one a demon and Jing a deity/immortal. I was a bit confused by that. Are there any other characters in the drama who are another creature in real form other than Jing and XL?

The wait for the official S2 release date is torturous. If it's 2024, I just want to know so I can move on. But if they are going to surprise us with a 2023 date, then I want to rewatch the drama again to prepare for S2! Oh the suspense.. hopefully they will announce it tomorrow after the finale airs officially.
