yup, totally agree with all your points in this one. I rather they got rid of the kidnap and the random 4th couple plotlines and focused a bit more of that time on sailom's issue. I get that maybe time is moving at a steady clip in this show but it feels like he only just broke up with the ex-gf recently (in the last month or so) but he said he waited for a long time 😅🤔
if a long time has passed to explain sailom's recovery I wish we'd seen the convos.

I think she's just matching his energy? I just took it as she's trying be gentle and very supportive with him, he was pretty flighty with her in their earlier sessions so shes going out of her way to put him at ease.

I think they were trying to show the passage of time, so I'm not actually sure how fast his recovery via therapy is progressing. I'm just going to assume it's a long time 😅😂

yeah. I'm actually enjoying it too, even though the acting and production sometimes leaves much to be desired. I like that they're trying to tackle some real issues rather than have a plot that is just all cutesy romance.

I suspect that it's not unusual for ppl not to report sexual or others physical abuse, even of children, to the authorities in some cultures. I know in mine there was a lot of stigma on the victim and family and so ppl tried to make it go away as quickly as possible. so I totally agree it should be reported, but I wonder if the writers are drawing from their own lived experiences or biases rather than just being lazy?

yeah, I'd agree that Chinese bls can vary widely in quality as well, though there's not as many of them. I imagine it's the way every country will go, ie, the more they produce the more bangers and awful ones we'll get, just due to everyone trying to cash in.
I'm not sure if you saw one of the AI Korean BLs that came out. it was so awful I couldn't watch it, the AI was so obvious and creepy. I really hope that doesn't become a trend

I didn't think they're better, just different. There's a lot of variation in Thai bls. some are top tier amazing, some are a total waste of time

fair enough! though the camera work in Contrast tends to be a little more intimate and focuses more on facial expressions compared to this show. For me a lot of acting comes through in the voicework as well, which is totally missing in this one which ruins it for me, but I completely agree that nuance should still be able to come through.

I'm also a little underwhelmed with the acting of the nerdy ML, but I think for me it's bc he has less to do and is generally a pretty passive character, and the off dubbing just throws me off. so I can't tell if his acting is poor or is being sabotaged partly by the script and the audio...?

depends on why you didn't like it? if you felt it was a bit dark in eps 1, then I think the tone shifts in the latest eps, so it might be worth giving it a couple more. Having said that, it still has some bloody scenes so it's not like the tone shifts into fluff 😅

ugh, sailom's freakout in the wardrobe really hit me, I felt that. Tee did a good job in that scene.

I'm more bothered by the adult in this situation, Akira is still a child so I don't blame him at all. I'm not surprised that he didn't agree to quit the relationship
