Why is everyone bitching about a female. Wouldn't you rather see a man and a woman get real close instead of 2…
@PamelaHannaEikleberry (I know this is late but wanted to speak out a bit) Although I do disagree with you on many, many points you’ve made, you shouldn’t have been called names and antagonized so much. People have opinions, it’s what drives the world. I don’t agree with yours, but I’ll respect them. I won’t hate you if you watch the drama because the BL was removed, but what everyone is trying to say here is respect the source material. Again, sorry for the hate, this community is just very passionate, hope you understand. Wish you well!
Can we dial down a bit on toxicity? They're doing their best to deliver us as much as they can due to COVID. Chill, give it time and possibly the show will return to how it was in the beginning. Unforeseen things happen, we all need time to adapt. That includes production crews, writers and actors. Stay positive and stay safe!
From dork in Love 020 to freakin demi-god. Quick review: 1. Their chemistry <3 2. Although I freakin' adore ZYC, I gotta admit a couple scenes were kinda flat with his acting, but he's doing a great job anyways. 3. I would expect the FL to be better for romcoms, but I actually quite like her in the historical setting, although she does slightly overract time to time. 4. CG isn't greatest, but it's watchable. 5. There are a couple plot points that I found weren't the best choice imo (like face-changing), but oh well. Not sure if it was in the novel. 6. The makeup style choice for the series is a bit iffy (especially for the males). Instead of making them glow, like crystal statues, their skin is like, made evenly dulled down (like a polished stone statue instead). Some can pull off the look, but imo it doesn't fit ZYC the best. THESE WERE ALL PERSONAL OPINIONS. PLEASE DON'T TAKE OFFENCE TO THEM. But yea, 14 episodes in. Pacing has been slightly strange in the latest episode, but I'm guessing it'll smooth itself out. Decent watch.
euhfgzksehdfkHef freakin' Mute Wife is Chinese that's kinda cute. Honestly I just wished they didn't dub over his voice. It really doesn't fit him at all.
Couple episodes in review: Yea.. as predicted pacing became a problem. The plot as a whole. Otherwise it really isn't anything to talk about. It's not bad but def not good either.
I disagree 100%, everything I read sounds so shallow.?
I mean how much depth do you expect from a quick look review? And this was an 8 episode review after all. I'm just pointing out MY thoughts, opinions and observations. If you disagree, then please explain why. I like discussing about topics, even if they think differently, but "everything I read sounds so shallow" doesn't present a wider range or different point of view from which I can think and learn off of xd
First 8 episodes review: 1. Let me just say this; the show so far is super dull. 2. The acting isn't bad though. Leo Wu is kinda hit or miss, but his acting is not bad in this. Lareina has always been a delight to watch, even though she is type-casted quite a lot (pretty sure this was also a type cast). And Karry is the most experienced of the TFBoys, so his acting is okay. 3. The costumes fit into 2 categories: Either they look cheap, or they look really dull. So far barely any visuals interested me. The set and filming locations are all mostly very grey-toned and dulled out for whatever reason. Just think of the visuals as Nirvana in Fire, but it's not misty or coloured undertones. Everything here either looks super grey or super "artificial". 4. Plot is slow and so far uninteresting. I'm pretty sure we haven't even started the actual "meat" of the story yet, so I'll stay and watch for that, but otherwise.. Yea. Kinda plain ngl. 5. Not enough magic. Honestly, in my opinion, when it comes to dramas with magic, you either use it or you don't. Don't just mention or use it once every 3 episodes. 6. Music is forgettable.
Overall: Not sure honestly. Nothing interesting actually happens so far. Like I said before, "Dull" is the best word to describe the series at this stage. I'll personally continue and see if anything good happens, but otherwise, out of the current 2 airing youth historical dramas, I would recommend The Great Ruler over this, even if the acting in TGR is not better than this one, at least it has material to work with and amazing visuals.
First episode review: So far, it's interesting. But one thing that I'm sure will be a problem is pacing. Already in the first episode everything started to jump around a bit.

can't wait for the day she gets a main role.
Until We Meet Again was a massive step up. I love the show to pieces for giving her a decent spotlight.
Missed him since Ever Night 2 aired.

It's a guilty pleasure watch.
At least for me, it's absolutely a guilty pleasure watch.
God I hate it but it's so cliche and cute and weirdly enticing.
(Not saying it's bad. Just not my type of drama. It's nice and lighthearted and I'm sure many people will love it <3 )

Its worth giving a try though.
