if you are just watching for romance then ya it's slow.

the FL leaves in ep 24 and contacts the ML at end of ep 26.

it's not a romance drama.

this drama is hard to watch with all the betrayals and xiao zhou being so low EQ.

it's not just with FL's father. when she's talking with her friend and when she's talking in the market... it's all in the local dialect. Since I'm streaming from a chinese site without english subs, I have no idea what they are talking about.

I can understand chinese. but there are many scenes that are in a local dialect that's not chinese.

Warning, there are parts of the show that aren't in Chinese.

Lighter and Princess. But warning, the ML is a bit of a red flag in the first 6 or so episodes. After you get past that, the chemistry is pretty insane.

the scene even funnier if you understand Chinese. The english translation was too mild. When Yifan said "I'll support you", she meant "I'll be your sugar mommy" lol

I like the chat they had in the car and the "were you sent by my dad from above to look after me", "no I volunteered" line at the end

I don't know about more famous. Never heard of Zhang Yuxi.

you will find out in later episodes. but basically after her father died, her mother remarried and abandoned her and sent her to live with the aunt who mistreated her.

some romance but it's not the focus. they end up together.

you may like Reset (time loop) and Derailment (parallel world) tho they aren't very heavy on the romance department.

29 is really good too
