there's some similar tropes but I agree that it's not very similar. Lighter & Princess is the most similar to The First Frost imo.

this drama should have been 12 episodes. ending was pretty good. besides that, only thing I really remember about this drama was FL's red flag ex, FL's confession to ML and ML's young patient calling him daddy and the ridiculous misunderstanding that it caused. Lots of kissing but I did not feel too much chemistry between the leads. All the scenes between the lead actors feels a bit too scripted.

Sang Yan is a tsundare. He'll only say mean things, but you know he cares about his friends and the FL. He was like this in Hidden Love so I don't know why you think he is a red flag here. Also, the ML is afraid of being rejected by the FL again. Being a slow burn drama, the temperature rises slowly. But if you don't like it just watch something else.

in ep 5 Sang Yan went to Yihe during college to see Wen Yifan. Sang Zhi should still be in high school at that time.

original story had the age difference of the siblings as 7 years. Hidden love changed it to 5 years. The First Frost kept the original 7 year age difference.

Meet Yourself doesn't have the kind of intense selfless love you find TFF and L&P tho. I am looking for something similar too and so far haven't found it.

we seem to have the same taste. You can try Meet Yourself. It's a very relaxing drama to watch after ep 1. ep1 is pure stress. Drama contains good chemistry, mature relationship, slow burn romance, no love triangles... I'vd recommend.

on ep 12. is it just me or does the FL feel really cold?

my advice is to just watch a few episodes and decide for yourself. don't force yourself to watch something you are not enjoying. As for the mood goes, The Best Thing is more fluffy while The First Frost goes pretty dark.

The pace does pick up later. After the story gets to the first/second episode timeline in ep23 it got better for me.

I started this drama 2 years ago and dropped it at ep 6. I remembered that I was kind of put off by how much of a jerk the ML is. I decided to pick this drama up trying to move on from The First Frost and I much say this drama gets better after ep 10 or so when the chemistry between the leads starts to heat up and keeps getting better. I love Zhu Yun's character where she is the green forest. Heard that people describe her as the knight in shining armor who will always support the ML. As for Lu Xun, he's jerk attitude really put me off in the earlier episodes but I can see why he acts like that due to his trauma explained in later episodes. The chemistry between the leads really start to shine though in the second half of the drama and there are many sweet moments. This show did a good job showing the FL's mood difference when she is with the Lu Xun as compared to Tian Xiu Zhu. The FL lead is happier with Lu Xun eating instant noodles and sleeping in a makeshift bed in the office compared with eating luxury meals and sleeping in luxury apartments with Tian Xiu Zhu. She even went against her mother to be with the ML and I was genuinely so happy when they got together again. So glad I picked this drama up again. 10/10

I am watching Lighter and Princess and as I am watching L&P, I keep thinking about the similarities with TFF except the roles are switched. In L&P, the FL is the green forest and the ML is the traumatized one who keeps pushing the FL away because he thinks she deserves better.

Honestly, I don't get why people are comparing TFF and TBT. The dramas are very different.
