Didn't Duan Jiaxu first help Sang Zhi when he was still in high school? If he's supposed to be Sang Yan's high…
no duan jiaxu only meets sang yan in college- but since they went to nanwu uni they were able to go to sang yan's house fairly often since it's the same city. sang zhi is aged up in the hidden love drama from 7 to 5 years difference from SY, however in first frost the timeline is the same as the novels so that's why she looks younger and their dynamic is less bickering. djx then goes back to yihe (his hometown) after he finishes uni and that's where he meets sang zhi again. this is also why yifan never met him before~
the way sangyan fails to not bring his “girlfriend” in any conversation with his friends makes me laugh sm🤣…
if i were sangyan and have never dated in my life i can see why he is now finally bragging everywhere about getting a girlfriend especially since she was pursuing him too 🤣 his ego is never going to deflate ever again
when sang yan looked so shocked when yifan asked him if he wanted to stay the night at the hotel
when yifan misreads sang yan's words asking her to come to him after her bath asking if its too soon clutching her pearls
i swear the both of them are going to drive each other insane with the accidental sexual innuendos lets pray they both survive their own dating era (or not because let's gooooo)
I completely agree with everything you said. I just love how we got this awkwardness phase for them and they didn't…
this drama is doing an excellent job in making the quiet moments really special and even the awkwardness makes me punch pillows because of how cute they are so am not even mad haha but yesss despite how you can truly sense the yearning and the love they have for each other, there is still long history that they haven't had full closure for and they are now just feeling each other out and finding their feet in their new relationship status. so their current rapport is very on point!!
whilst i can't wait for them to really get into their lovey-dovey era, i do like that they are still shy and reserved with each other straight after confessing feelings because it makes total sense for their character personalities and for their pre-dating relationship where things were still a bit tense & stilted. it's realistic how their interactions and conversation after a few days of dating is kinda awkward and innocent (especially when you consider they are each other's firsts) and it emphasises how they are still a little too self conscious/too aware of the other, but the sprinkling of teasing playful moments and the little hand touches and wound tending scenes where the affection really shines through is soooo addictive and im so excited for them to get more comfortable (considering yifan's mind is already wandering so early ahem ahem sang yan you're in trouble!! lmao)
i am obsessed with how sang yan's love language is his acts of services - the way he silently tries to take care of yifan without her needing to even know it was his doing because he doesn't have an ulterior motive and just wishes for her happiness. even when she rejects him or his actions, he accepts it without hounding her (unlike others, or her family who continually bulldoze against her firm boundaries). from feeling abandoned by yifan at the start of the ep, to finally being able to wish her hbd in person right by her side.. even if sang yan doesn't know the real reason for their previous separation, he would still always burn the world for yifan ;__;
and thank god yifan is really learning how to love and be loved. she's steadily opening her heart to him always being her safest space, so much so that she doesn't feel the need to lock her door living with a man and even sleepwalks into his bed and lets him slowly but surely knock down all her walls.
also her adorable innocent flirting skills are driving me (and sang yan) crazy!!! yes! go get your man!
yeah the red sleeve is an absolutely beautiful narrative about female empowerment and the idea of freedom of choice but it honestly really crushed me... haha i remember watching the last few episodes with tears streaming down my face the entire time. but honestly i do still really recommend it! it's wonderfully acted and filmed.
i do get you about lovely runner - i think i was swayed by the powerful pilot episode and just got swept up in the romance and brain rot, even though logically the show could have been executed a lot better if i had watch it without my rose-tinted glasses haha ^^
yess reply series is super nostalgic and a total cultural icon! there's something about the director/writer duo that just know how to grab at my heart and just /squeeze/ looking forward to whatever they come up with next.
i haven't seen the dr romantic series (will get to it at some point!), but the double was one of my fave c-dramas of last year - though i did feel like the ending derailed a bit and the romance scenes were so ridiculously filmed (curse you forever YuZheng) but overall great!
have you watch our beloved summer? it's a slow slice of life about two people who find their way back together, i think if you're enjoying TFF you would really enjoy that drama too! lighter & princess is a c-drama that has similar-ish vibes though the ML can be a bit hit/miss depending on how you view him ~
as much as i do wish yifan would more quickly be less passive so not to let herself be cornered in compromising situations, i think her character development so far has been honestly pretty realistic. changing one's habits, traits and reactions to situations can't be done overnight especially not when she has suffered from so much trauma and this behavior has become her defence mechanism.
but you can see she is now starting to break out of her shell. she is showing more emotion, standing up against injustice towards herself and opening up to her childhood friend after having never done so before. she is also especially beginning to untangle and unlock all of her suppressed desire to be with sang yan when she thought she was never good enough for him before.
occasionally yes she does regress back to her old self where she thinks ignoring things would just make it go away, but it's reassuring to see her finally come to the important realisation to love and put herself first ^^ which will of course in turn soon let her love others (especially sang yan) too ^^
in the main novel the ending is sang yan proposing to her and she of course acceptsin the extra chapters they…
technically they dont have a daughter yet but yep because of the dimples saga they immediately try to conceive the baby that night hoping to get a daughter with dimples ^^ sang yan the predator really always seizing his opportunities hahaha
this was just a douyin clip they uploaded but i think this kiss should be ep 19 or 20 (sadly) because it comes almost 8ish chapters after they start dating which should be ep 18
also can i say how ready i am for a c-drama mother who is actually in support of their relationship (and even scolds him for not dating her already) rather than trying to break them up and cause issues?
yifan so downbad for sangyan she is resorting to his tactic of buying too much food so they can eat together [dead] also that scene was just SOOO wonderfully done. the way sang yan was so abrupt (because he felt hurt that she wanted to move out) until she finally admitted that she wanted to live with him out of her own desires without any excuse [dead again] and then both of them smiling their stupid little smiles [dead x 100000]
Can anyone explain the last line when she said star yang , I wouldn't dare. What did she mean by that?
she's referring his nickname (from ep 1) "star sang" / "headliner sang" with the insinuation that he is the top male host that ppl pay to see, so she is commending that his flirty/teasing behavior/services is as expected of the number one, but she is shy and deflecting his advances
I hate the 1ep per day from tomorrow 😭Novel readers can you please tell me:1. Who is this kexing girl? How…
1) in the novel kexin doesn't exist. yifan only hears about sang yan going on blind dates (fyi he isn't) but it makes her experience the feelings of jealousy and possessiveness leading to her further confirming her feelings for him ^^ (also because sang yan kept declining going on the dates, his mom actually tried setting him up with boys too because she was pretty desperate for him not to be alone lmao..... sy never beating the gay allegations.. )
2) mcy hangs around for quite long.. but he was pretty harmless in the novel and backed off immediately once he found out sy and yifan are dating. so not sure what the drama is going to do with his character as they have already given him a lot more obnoxious scenes

*not including the one in beiyu where sangyan tricked her
