A par excellence drama. Not a dull moment. I even rewatch some episodes while waiting for new episodes. The fl, ml and the rest of the cast really nail their roles. I’ve always like WJY since the story of Yanxi palace. And WXY shows his acting capabilities here.

Just finished this drama last night. Didn’t skip a single episode and that says a lot. Love this drama; love the characters. The power of a united front , a united family, can really make the world go round.

Loving this drama. Wholesome and heartwarming story. The main leads and supporting casts are excellent. I seldom shed tears watching dramas, but I must admit that I have shed a few at some heart wrenching scenes.
Today’s episodes are aired earlier than usual, not that I’m complaining.

I must admit that I was so disheartened by JZ’s death. But the last 2 episodes were so beautifully executed, In a civil war, sacrifices are inevitable. In this drama, we see true comradeship, true friendship and true loyalty. I’m glad the mentor-mentee tie is not broken. That, for me, is a consolation. Their mental therapy is just amazing. The train journey shows the extent people go to defend their beliefs and faith. Indeed this drama is a war of faith, and what a war it is !!!

Finally finished the whole drama. One of the best Xian Xia dramas I’ve watched. Somehow, I feel that the many lovey dovey scenes of these 2 more than make up for the anguish that the ending of PA gave us. Great drama, and not too many angst. Thanks to all the cast and crew members who made this drama. Hats off to you all !

Normally, Chinese parents or good friends will call their children/friends by a nickname. It usually starts with Ah and followed by the given name, in this case , it’s Ah Li.

Another heartbreaking episode 😢. I know this is fiction, so why can’t the script writer just keep Jinzhen alive. The whole atmosphere is already depressing enough; can’t we have a glimmer of hope that the 2 main leads survive another 2 episodes?

Li Qin, Wang Yi Bo, Wang Yang and the other cast members are so very good. I can smell romance in the air already. Keeping my fingers crossed! These latest 2 episodes are so satisfying, especially the ‘ruffians’ friends that WRL met in jail. I like the mentor-mentor scene. So touching; now nobody in the bank can ostracise WRL. As for that LQS, I really really hope that retribution will happen. He needs to be taught a good lesson for being so inhumane and for forging false evidence. Previews for the next 2 episodes do not augur well for SJZ ( hopefully nothing bad will happen to her )

SJZ is a communist. Xu Nuo, the tailor, is her comrade and he’s a true blue communist.

Yes, the torture scene really is depressing… makes me wonder about humanity! How can people be so inhumane?

Shen Tunan ( Wang Yang) is a very talented actor. I’ve watched a few of his dramas and he never disappoints. I like his voice, too ✌️

Exactly! I wish I could binge watch the whole drama in one sitting. But then again, I think I need a break now and then to have a breather! This drama is heavy stuff, but really an eye opener.

Wang Yi Bo is really an excellent actor. He has improved his acting skills by leaps and bounds. His wide range and raw emotions in this drama are so on point!

Totally agree. The actors slayed their roles! It is definitely a good drama, depicting historical events in a story.

OMG! I’m so depressed at the torture inflicted on the ml. The plot is so realistic. I really love the mentor-mentee relationship. RWL’s total devotion to his boss is admirable , and likewise STN’s attempts to save his assistant is pure faith and trust in his assistant. The previews of the next 2 episodes at least lessen my depression.
I’m totally into this drama, but I need something a bit lighthearted to distract me now.
