In the past I would ask if a show has romance because I personally really enjoy watching shows with romance since it's my all time favorite genre in shows. It's not wrong to ask, that way someone won't have to waste their time into a show that doesn't have a genre they prefer, and vice versa.

Ohh yeah I finished it a while back and fell in love with the show, and the thought about the kiss happened to pop into my head randomly one day haha, so I thought I'd come back and ask about it

Sameee! I watched Pillow Book first and absolutely fell in love. I never skipped an episode and was entertained throughout the whole story! I'm now watching TMOPB and I am struggling with it - struggling hard. I tried it once before (when it first came out) and dropped it after the first 5 episodes, and now I've come to watch it again so I can see how Donghua and Fenjiu's story is in the first story. Now I'm on episode 40+ and I really dreading on continuing it. I wish TMOPB gave me the same excitement and eagerness as Pillow Book (Eternal Love of Dream) did.

Not really competing because nobody can beat Donghua in both status and appeal haha, but Xiang Li Meng has this long time crush on her.

There's also a lot of jealous moments from Donghua where he gets jealous with how close Fenjiu is with Yan Chi Wu, it's adorable haha. I'm a sucker for romance and jealousy, and seeing Donghua get slightly jealous is so amusing - especially coming from an Emperial Lord!

I'm at the part where bai qian is still a mortal and is staying in the heavenly palace as Su Su. Does anyone know around what episode everyone finds out she's Bai Qian?

I think there's a bit of misunderstanding in my comment lmao.
Let me try and reiterate it in a more specific way. I'm aware he didn't kiss in the drama for a reason, whether it be by contract, another movie commitment, etc, but my comment was mostly to ask why they chose to do a bird scene rather than just animate the kiss scene using drawings like they did for the battle scenes. The bird scene was cute, but I felt like their animation story telling was a nice touch to the drama, and was surprised they didn't keep this momentum for the kiss scene as well. Imagine a drawn out version of the kiss scene in the beautiful painterly style they had through the show, that would have been stunning in my opinion! (I also thought this when I saw the drawn images of the two characters in the photo tab, the more intimate drawn photos)

My comment in regards to him being the country's baby was just speculation from what I had heard, which is why my previous comment starts off with saying " I heard he's considered the country's 'baby' ", which emphasized that I 'heard' about this, not that I found it to be a fact or anything. Someone above already corrected me on this, if you missed it.

I second Love & Redemption! I haven't watched this drama yet, but I absolutely loved L&R - the drama also has the same director!

I always wondered, for the kiss scene for Changge and Sun, how come they didn't just animate the scene with drawings like they did for the battle scenes. The bird scene was pretty awkward to watch imo haha.

Hai! I'm superrr interested in starting this drama, but I also can't stand sad endings T_T I just have a few questions if someone can answer them, I don't mind spoilers!
1. Does Tian Qi get a love interest/end up with someone? The guy who plays his character (Liu Xue Yi) is one of my favorite actors haha, and after watching L&R I'm kinda hoping to see a happy ending for his char haha.
2. Is it a happy ending overall, like does the ML and FL end up together?
3. Are there any other couples or any sort of love triangle/rivalry/jelousy. An unpopular opinion, but I love me that love triangle stuff, angst, jealous, obstacles in a relationship, etc. I eat that plot stuff like candy lmao. If there are other couples please list them out! No matter if it's a main couple or a side couple!
4. Is it a slow burn romance? I enjoy slow burn (a question for all couples in this series).

It's rare to even see a drama rated over 9 on MDL smh.

I started this drama after seeing the countless of overly positive reviews and major hype around the series in the comments, and as I started watching it I found myself feeling bored with the chemstry between the leads, as well as the personality fo the FL as a whole. I expected an amazing all-around drama from the rating, and I think that was the first mistake I made. Would you be able to tell me if their dynamic gets any better? I just find the FL to be quite bland when it comes to her socializing with others, though of course her coroner skills are super neat.

I'm up to episode 7 and I'm still a little confused about the golden lotus. Can someone explain to me what the golden lotus is, how it relates to MoYuan and BaiQian, and what's the fate around it? I don't mind spoilers for future things as well!
