So originally I got to episode 5 and dropped the series because the ML and FL on-screen chemistry was really lacking, though it's interesting since their off-screen chemistry when watching the BTS is so on point. They act so much like a couple, and it started to make me want to watch the series again haha.
Crossing fingers that the on-screen chemistry gets better after episode 5!
Don't let the rating dissuade you from watching this drama. People mainly give it a bad rating due to censorship…
Can you spoil the ending for me? I really want to watch this drama but I hate watching dramas with no conclusion :( Is the ending a happy or sad one? Is there at least some sort of 'ending' feel to it, like not everything has to be answered but do we at least see anyone get together?
I started watching this drama recently, knowing the ML and FL pairing from when I watched Goblin, and went into it for just them - aka, my expecations for the drama were pretty low from the start. I expected a cliche story full of fluff. However, once I started watching it past two episodes I was thouroughly impressed.
I actually began enjoying the story, and though rom coms aren't usually my cup of tea (I normally go for the angsty romance), this was a nice breather to watch after all the intense ones I usually aim for. It was also a pleasant surprise to see Oh Jung Se in this. I only knew the ML and FL of this series, but to see the actor who was in It's Okay to Not Be Okay was such a joy to watch in here.
I'm only on Episode 5, but I hope to continue to enjoy it as the series progresses. (I'm really enjoying the small bits of drama that they sprinkle on this. It really gives the FL some sort of backbone)
I was the exact same way! No matter how hard I tried, I could never get into Eternal Love (TMoPB). I actually finished watching Eternal Love of Dream and it is now one of my all time favorite CDramas!
I love the dynamic and romance between Donghua and Fengjui, it's just super precious, slow burn, and it's super adorable.
Does it have a happy ending? I’m trying to decide if I’m going to watch.
yup, it has a happy ending! highly recommend you watch it, it's currently my all time favorite CDrama! ♥ (You might need to push through some episodes, but it picks up pace at around episode 9 and then really hits the feels at 21!)
I also don't like..why most of the Chinese historical dramas have tragic enndings????but I love this drama except…
To be honest I was lowkey hoping they'd die together, then it would be more bearable for me to watch since that would be a more bittersweet ending haha, but seeing as he has some interesting character development, I may try this drama out and just brace my heart for a depressing ending (I'll have to prep up some good ending dramas before I watch this one xD)
I've watched two shows with her in it, but I can't help but feel her acting is so... forced :( I really want to love her acting... I really do. There are so many dramas she's in where I really enjoy the storyline, but her acting and her lack of chemistry with her co stars really makes me drop every drama I see her in.
It's not that she's a terrible actor, but more that I can't really vibe with her acting (kind of hard to explain). The way she acts makes her character feel so fake rather than natural.
Does anyone have any news on when this will start airing? I heard they wrapped up filming around last year in Oct. I'm super excited for this! The trailer looks really promising and I'm crossing fingers it won't be a tragic ending like most Xianxia dramas are (if someone read the novel and can spoil the ending for me, that would be great!)

Would you mind spoiling the ending for me? I was considering on watching it and maybe I can if I prepare my soft heart for what the tragic ending is haha

Also, is there a secondary couple in this, or any love triangles?
