I think it’s better than having him talking to himself half the time. It’s part of the story and I would rather…
I agree! Instead of leaning about him and his character from others' conversations or POV, I would rather hear his thoughts from himself and it's refreshing.
I just finished episode 1 and I'm hooked by the plot. Yes, indeed Yang Yang looks very handsome in the drama. He even plays a teen in the big chunk of the EP1 and looks age appropriated to the young character.
One thing that caught me off guard was when Yingtao reached the construction site, some person beside her was…

only thing in this wonderful drama is the acting of ZJY, FL. I cant feel her anything at all. emotionless. it…
I agree! Although Zhang Jing Yi is adequate but still falls short and flat comparing with the actors around her, who are supposed to be her supporting cast.
Zhou Yi Ran is billed as the ML but with so limited screen time, I would consider his role almost as a supporting role yet he steals the lime light from ZJY when they're at the same scene. The same for the actress Liu Dan who plays ZJY's mom who brings a range of emotions to the drama, the audience can feel her pains, regret, sorrow, depression, fear that she'll lose Qing Yu just like losing Bei Yu if she doesn't have a control over Qing Yu. What performance from Zhou Yi Ran and Liu Dan.
This drama adapted by a novel, is there anyone who can give me spoilers about the ending in the novel ?
Very happy ending and they both wait until they're mentally mature to know what they want from each other. She says to him that she can't focus their relationship now (in H.S.) and he replies that I'll wait for you to be ready and whenever you're ready. In the novel, he studies medicine in NY and she studies Business/Economics at college in Shanghai. She also works as a model to cover her educational expenses and save up to pursue a higher education in NY. They move back to Shanghai and he is a medical doctor and she has her own business. Together, they have three children, a boy, a girl and a boy. She's a writer, not a dancer in the novel. This is a such wonderful drama and I love it so much. The novel is even better because it has the advantage to portray the characters in depth. I can say that Liu Dan (the FL's mom) brings her end game to the drama and the raw emotions from her are even better than in the novel.
10,000 heat index in China but only 32 comments in here? Man, I wonder how many good dramas I missed just because…
It's a very interesting crime drama, not a typical police/crime drama. Suspense, organized crime and police/prosecution corruption and I'm binging watching!
"The Bad Kids" (2020) - modern, thrillers, mystery. A story that follows three children from a coastal town who unintentionally film a murder scene.
"Oh No! Here comes Trouble" (2023) - A high school student who gains superpowers after a near-fatal car accident and embarks on a fantastical journey with rookie policewoman.
I thought it's a light romantic drama because of the poster I wasn't even going to watch I was wrong .. one of…
The mother is so scared to lose another daughter, Qing Yu so she's somewhat unreasonable to control and protect Qing Yu. In the later episode, I cried with the mother for her pain, guilt and regret for the loss of Bei Yu. This is an excellent drama, portraying the parents who're working poor and not very well educated but they love their children the best they know how, in a very awkward and silent way.
There was sexism there. .I think the grandparents wanted the parents to focus on raising the boy.
Money The grandparents don't really care about who'll stay with them, Bei Yu or Qing Yu, as long as one of them stay with them, the parents would send them the money to cover the living expenses of the girl. Bei Yu is such a kind and sweet sister, who knows how awful and miserable to live with the grandparents and the number one uncle and aunt (Qiao Jin Rui's parents) so when she looks at her younger sister, Qing Yu's face, she can't bear the thought that her sister would suffer like she does if she chooses to leave with her parents and leave Qing Yu with that awful grandparents and relatives.
