60 episodes, how to air under the 40 episode rule?

Chen Xiao and Mao Xiao Tong are 渣男渣女. Chen Xiao had used "cold violence" against his wife for almost two years since filming "The Ingenious One Season One" with Mao Xiao Tong. He wanted a divorce during the promotion for the drama in May 2023 but his wife didn't want to because they have a boy at the time only 6 year old and she wanted to keep the family intact for their son. So Chen Xiao moved out the family home at the end of 2023 and has never been back home ever since. He changed the phone number and refused to take the calls from his wife. His wife could only communicate with him through their mutual friends or his assistant. His wife took their little boy to visit him at the drama filming location and he refused to see her including their son. Meanwhile, his wife was the sole care giver to their boy. They both have money so the money is not the issue between them. His wife finally accepted the divorce because her father passed away due to cancer in Dec. 2024 and Chen Xiao didn't send any condolence, instead appearing laughing with co-workers. The social media in China hints Mao Xiao Tong and Mao Xiao having an affair when Chen Xiao was still married to his wife which means Mao Xiao Tong is 知三做三 !

Don't rely on the negative comments. Those comments were by the people who want the heavy weighted romance and twisted love, anguish caused by love , pure romance, kisses and nothing else.

The drama is wonderful with all the banter between ML and FL. It takes time and patient to follow the plot, the dialogue between them and how they plot the schemes TOGETHER to reach their goal. It's just not your cup of tea. It's ok, just move on from the drama!

If you really want to know and if you have time, read the review posted by JulesL in the "Reviews" section above. In the second lifetime, they both get a second chance with life experience of 40 years old. They both grow and learn to communicate with their feelings. It's a happy ending. For me, I so enjoy the banter between ML and FL.

So glad to know it has a happy ending because I just love Li Rong and Pei Wenxuan being together! Now I can really enjoy the drama and these two.

Correct but Bai Jin Ting , who is the ML in this drama, is a better actor.

This is just a spin off drama from Hidden Love. The ML in this one is the older brother of the FL in Hidden Love so this is his love story, not much to do with Hidden Love.

Available on Thursday, Feb. 20th on Netflix(U.S.) The drama is available on Netflix in many other regions already.

If you can suffer through the first 5 or 6 episodes, then it gets better.

This drama will never be aired for the reasons others have posted here.

The scandal of 2nd ML Zhao Li Xin who made the comments in 2019 seemingly, off-handedly defending Japanese invasion of China. This kind of scandal will never be forgiven by majority of Chinese drama fans so how can the production team air a drama, knowing it'll draw a public backlash against it, in a strong and furious fashion.
Misinformation on 2nd ML Zhao Li Xin on internet, claiming that he grew up in Sweden. He actually was born and raised in China. He was very bright and went to prestigious art performing university in China, then went on to the university in Moscow, then Sweden. He later became Swedish citizen, which means he gave up his Chinese citizenship, dual citizenship not recognized in China. I'm sure he no long lives in China and his acting career in China was over in 2019. It's really too bad since I like his acting in "The Rise of Phoenixes" and I really want to see Crystal Liu and Jing Bo Ran in this drama!

For this drama, the weakest link is actor Zhai Zi Lu who plays the ML. The character of the ML is very unlikable from the beginning to the end of the series then added to the immature, weak character, the acting is horrendous from ML, and his line delivery is weak and unclear. Often the pronunciation of the words is slurred. Oh, his acting is absolutely terrible and I don't understand how he got the ML role!

There is no misunderstanding in this drama, just unfortunate circumstances. Also this drama doesn't drag, moving from solving crime case to case. The drama is not perfect by all standards but it's easy to follow, very "grounded", no fillers. I'm at EP 29 and 7 more episodes left.
