Flora is as much in fault if not more in this relationship as Luke, she doesn't share, she doesn't confide in him, she doesn't trust him. She went to him after the incident but not a word about what happend, instead she let him know of it in a mail addressed to the company. it can't be about her not in a position to say anything because of Kitty, it is about her trust in him, her acceptance of him as someone who shares her joy and sorrow. Luke on the other hand is concrete, he steps in and forces.thr company to take actions. I don't like the harshness in words of Luke, but lately I see him doing this less and less, but Flora on the other hand remains the same, not opening up, keeping Luke in the dark as in the first day of their relationship.
Just guessing, ep.17 would be focusing on Donny getting what he deserves, and a bit on Lumi and the new guy Will start falling for each other .Ep. 18 on the leads taking a holiday , having a great time, dressing up in local costumes. Ep.19 would be about the tragic passing of their dear friend. Ep. 20 and 21 the leads falling out and she leaves.Ep 22-24 would be on a 4 year separation time span and ending up in reconciliation. There might not be a wedding but they are in all intent and purposes getting married.
I don't recall Youku with this habit, one ep. a day for an entire week is super weird. I think they are doing this now is because of the success and the number of episodes. After all 24 episodes with 2 episodes a day schedule would end the airing in a heartbeat, compromising whatever the gain of commercial promos contracted to the drama.
think Youku will change airing schedule for next week, don't think they will stick to one episode a day to the very end in 10 days time. They will want to cash in with the sales of express package.
How many years have passed since she joined the company? I'm always confused about the timeline here.
I made the same observation just yesterday. Evidence of the time frame management is truly a miss here in this drama, the director, editor, screenplay writer expect the viewers to keep count of the number of new year eve, or glaring at the phone display every time a message comes on the screen to check the date, someone even suggests to check the car licence plate as it shows the year. We watch the drama and knowing when and where we stand as the story moves on is important. They cut the drama down to 24 episodes from the original 34 version, so much viewing time got cut off and along with it the time flow. The editor clearly made a big misstep, if time placement was clear in the original uncut version.

it is such a relatable drama and delivered by an excellent cast, great directors (a specific director from Taiwan for the intimate scenes). The cut from 32 to 24 must have huge impact on the consistency of the drama.
Just one observation, I wish the director and the editor could have been more clear about the time frame in this drama, there is little or no precise indication of the time, we can't tell for sure how many months or years have gone by now since she joined the firm, and when exactly did the story between the leads start. The story tells she left the firm after 6 years. I like to know where we are now.
Ep.14 finally shows the importance of Flora to Luke, what he did and harsh though his words are to her in the car, they make her realize she really matters to him. Jing Bo Ran is really cut for this character and so is Sun Sun Qian for hers. I know heartbreaks are in the horizon, but this episode foretells how they will hit especially Luke. Btw, am rewatching Love between lines while waiting for new episode (one ep a day is simply cruel) a day , it came to my mind that if for some reason Sun Qian couldn't do this drama, Lu Yu Xiao would have be a valid alternative, she is a natural too and the "pure soap and water" look would do well here.
Luke and Flora are fictional characters but they are both believable & relatable. One might actually knows…
How they behave is totally relatable, one can quite easily identify himself/herself in them, this fact plus the great performance delivered by the leads have made this drama a big hit. It is honest, daring, mature and do not go overboard as in most western dramas do.I just wish they didn't cut it from 32 episodes to a mere 24 and that we could have 2 episodes a day. I do think the director has chosen a perfect couple to play the leads, they are formidable, I don't see anyone else doing this good as the two leads do, their looks, their postures, voice, tone are so befitting. They own the roles they cover. Hats off.
The book ends with a happy ending, I am sure the drama will too. If by bittersweet, you mean sufferings before ending happily, that too is in the book, and in all previews of the drama, it says the same.
