oh he is awesome and the actor has truly delivered, what morale, how righteous and selfless!

I have a couple of questions, may be someone in this chatroom has the answer and be so kind to illuminate me :):1) the jailer of the "temiu" king was Yan Feng San, the leader of the Huben Army who killed the ML's father, right?2) Who then jails the ML as shown in the special episode since the leader died in the final fight with the temiu king?This is a great drama and the performance of the entire cast is understanding indeed, but I wish more hints were given to render the storyline, at the end, less unexplainables..

good points indeed. This kind of project suits him to the T, and when the work is well received by the public, why should he stop with a good script in hand? Don't know where about him not wanting to do season 2 comes from.

Much as logic tells me he died in the fire, the special episode quite clearly indicates he in fact survives, giving way to a second season with his commitment to some other "adventure".

so the "special episode" points to unfinished business which the Ml, still alive, would be carrying it out. So a second season might happen, and why do I read comments here saying Cheng Yi would not be taking part if it? He mustn't be replaced..

these wounds that should be fatal turn out to be just a snap on the wrist somehow belittle the seriousness of the drama, thru no faults of the cast. If surviving from wounds is paramount then they should make the stabs less fatal. Plus the last scene of him walking into the storage with a twisted knife in his stomach, lighting up fire, and afterwards appearing caged, hair black, talking, taking the bottle containing God knows what and that "paperish" looking piece of thing on a table, hear him saying stuff like doing one more task, forgetting the past, cannot be explained away with any good logic. IAll and alli have enjoyed the drama and shall watch it again, with a sense of melanconic dissatisfaction.

I don't watch the drama on any other platform except Netflix,too.But Netflix is behind airing schedule, so I can't tell.

The last few episodes are not as clear as I would want them to be, moving on too fast, the editing, cut and paste of scenes leave me feeling unsatisfied bewildered. In addition, if it weren't for the special episode I would have thought that the ml had really died. But then again how did he survive the stabbing and the fire since his friends couldn't find him. Plots are great, but the unexplainables not so much.
At any rate, it is a great drama, I shall rewatch it.

Sure, why not. One thing with Chinese historical dramas is how much factual and fictional the final products are. Either way, this drama with the cast, director, screenplay and cinematography predetermined, at least for me, the success of the series. I just hope it will stand as one of the most sought out and appreciated works in the recent years.

power shifts took place just as peace talks and treaties in ancient history. One never excluded the other. This drama has chosen battles and not talks.

wow so the last two trailers seem to show the king might not be dead, yet,..what a masterpiece of work this drama is. If I could vote effectively for this drama to be the best of the year in China, I vote do it oven and oven again

Netflix has been quicker to start airing recently, but always behind the actual schedules, I go into Netflix all the same to watch them, if only to boost viewership.

Damn it, youku airs only one episode today.

oh they just released ep 24, with trailers on ep.25 and 26. Yes, very confusing about airing sequence. Let's hope the express package is going to be dropped tomorrow.. I have bought access, money well spent 😉
