someone mentioned that it is an adaption from a novel or alike and claims dissatisfaction. It is early stage yet to cast judgement. I haven't read the novel and don't intend to for now. At this moment I am totally enjoying the pacing, the cinematography, the fight scenes and the acting of the cast.

This is the reason why I can't bring myself to like Japanese produce even now, their cruelty somewhat remain in my head, though so much time has passed.

Ren Jialun is excellent is this type of drama, historical and morale walking side by side. This may not fit everybody's taste but definitely resonates with Chinese, Asians who are familiar with the history at the time. Viewership might not be as extensive as of some idol dramas etc but it is certainly a work of very high quality in every aspect.

just bumped into this short drama, on episode 2 now and find it a very pleasant watch, the story runs smoothly so far, the colours, cinematography are eye catching, the main male lead has done some good work in the past, the FL is a natural. Happy to have picked this drama up by chance in this moment when nothing to me is worth chasing.

OMG, I would understand it if the novel gives a BE and the screenplay changes it to a HE, but for it to be opposite is totally unacceptable! Why did the director, the producer even accept such a screenplay?

I like both leads, the FL is very expressive and natural, and the ml is convincing indeed, he has the postures, poise in wuxia dramas and has been in the film industry for years.I hope he will have more opportunities to play mean lead. As for the story, I am in early episodes, so can't tell much but the storyline is good and the fight scenes are nicely done.

I hope so, for his and our sake. I still cringe when I think of his classic ending in One and Only..

.. and I am weary every time I see Alen Ren among the cast, much as I like him, he always dies or disappears in the end and I can't stand bad endings, not after I invest so much time and pleasure to watch episode after episode.
