It could have been a great screenplay derived from a book from start to finish if the screenplay writer did not literally drop the ball in the last 2 episodes. How the ex husband plotted and schemed with courage he never had and foolishly thinking he could have power and his wife back, how a fierceful stonehearted princess turned into a meek lovesick woman who choose to end her own life were totally off track, none of these follows the flow of the narrative. The fights in the palace and at the gate to the capital, if written and directed with care could have given a befitting closure of the riot , but no, the screenwriter hastily wrapped up the fights leaving room to a battle in far away land, a battle which looked to be a terrible, tragic defeat of the Duke but lord behold, he came back months and months later victorous with no explanations. What a great disappointment at the very end. The sudden careless turn of the screenplay at the end does not do justice to the performance of a great cast, all roles, small and big are truly covered by professionals, a big appluase.

The death of the princess was a rush and unfitting to her fierceful character, the female lead shooting the palm of her ex husband from afar, causing the drop of the talisman was simply ridiculous. so much were unsaid, unexplained, the male lead was leaving the next day and all of the sudden the wedding night. what a pity the screenplay took such a disappointing turn in the last few episodes.

it was such a well written screenplay upto the last two episodes then events became unrealistic and the last battle was uncalled for.

His role is the hardest to play among the leads, anguish, remorse, fear, submissiveness in front of a tyrant princess so demanding, hiding his deepest pain and thoughts. Yes the actor deserves high recognition of his performance.

SYR started as a scholar with high principles who married a beauty with intelligence and talent. Then came the princess who suffered mentally and physically in the past in foreign land and thought the world owed her everything, she took SYR. SYR was brought up to think that only powerful people can survive, therefore he dared not refuse the princess, his mother greedy as hell ended his marriage putting his son on the most treacherous road burying his wife alive. I condemn his cowardness and cruelty, but seeing his attempts to try to protect his ex wife in some way in the later stage and the disgust he felt for himself made me feel sorry for him.

Youku is indeed disrespectful and inconsistent, in addition to VIP, they put out a "tvod" status requiring more money to watch episodes as soon as they are released, or else one can watch as VIP only 6 hrs later. Very robbery-like commercial politicY.

Now that is what I call "good thinking" of you, right, they are all sitting there in front of the pc laughing, congratulating themselves for dragging us who love this drama into panic and anxiety. they don't get any praise from me as a paid viewer for sure. Why is it wrong to provide good and liable service to their customers??

The calendar above says "end of work ceremony" or words to that effect in Chinese for episode 36 . No idea what it possibly stands for, there is no way they actually cut a drama of 40 episodes to 36, but if they want to air the remaining episodes 37-40 in a package along with episode 36, why isn't it specified in the calender? Youku is messy, to say the least.

So Youku released trailers for epi 35 and 36, meaning they are not dropping the express package anytime soon, damn. it is probable they will pack the last 4 episodes in a deal, we should find out about it after the release of episode 36, I presume.

In Asia, where Chinese dramas have major audience.

The double is on on Netflix in some regions, so happy for them, this drama really deserves recognition. The screenplay is solid and smooth, the cast is excellent and good production efforts too.

the brother stays alive is also in the bookm I am happy with him and the father are alive, they don't deserve death at all, all the pain and suffering are more than enough to justify the storyline.

I will keep an eye on the youku app,the probability of Youku dropping the express package is actually quite high, since for some reason , no trailer of new episode is available on the app, contrary to what they normally do.

An excellen screenplay derived from a book. The book is lengthy and based on the fact that the female lead is the combination of spirit and body of two different persons, but the screenplay did it differently, which I find definitely way better, logical and credible. In addition, the screenplay stands on its own narrative beautifully, the story flows great and so is the pacing, never a time filler episode, new elements come up in each episode leading us wanting to see the next. So love this drama... hope it won't disappoint either as it reaches the end.

More clips giving us glimpses of what will happen are being released in YouTube in the last 24 hrs and more will come, I think. Since the latest airing schedule stops on the airing day of episode 36, which is on Friday, I am inclined to think the express package will probably be dropped right after ep 36 is aired. As a fervent fan of this drama, I hope the package will be dropped sooner.
