I feel like this is a bit over-hyped and it's this popular mainly to the controversy. It's not a bad show I enjoyed it overall, but it wasn't anything that memorable and I can't say I'll ever want to rewatch this.
People seem to fall into two extremes with this show, they either hate it and give it a low rating or they think it's the best think ever created and rate it 10 stars trying to counteract the nay-sayers.
I can't say I fall into either one of these. The show started out great, but it lost steam with each passing episode. I personally didn't love Song Yi Heon/Kim Deuk Pal that much, nor the other characters. I get the idea behind it, it's cool, but something felt off. The acting was fine, the plot was fine, it was surprisingly bromancy considering I expected zero vibes since I heard it was censored. But the vibes were there and that was a plus for me. But I just felt something was missing (non-BL related) and I wasn't in any hurry to watch the next episode, it took me a good while to finish and if I'm honest, I was kinda bored. Maybe my expectations were too high after seeing the rating and I thought for sure I was gonna be obsessed with it but in the end I was just 'meh'.
I hate it when the synopsis are so misleading. She did not repeatedly fail her entrance exams. She had an accident on her way to the exam and broke both arms and she was healed she didn't go to retake the exam because she heard her father crying that he didn't have tuition money. The synopsis makes her sound like an incompetent student but she was just unlucky and poor.
It pains me to say this, but that was bad. The acting is excellent - especially Fourth. That is not an easy role…
The acting is really good in my book, I love all the actors so far. The production value is unfortunately quite poor due directing and editing. However, I'm going to try to focus on the actors because their chemistry is good, both main and secondary couple look very promising.
I really need them to stop adapting stuff that has already been mastered... Cherry Magic was a 10 and Kieta Hatsukoi…
I actually like remakes because if I love the story, I want to watching it again in original form or with new actors and setting. Of course the OGs are usually still my no. 1 but there's enough room in my heart for the adaptations too. You always have the option to opt out of watching the remakes. I personally wouldn't want to miss out on them.
Ugh. I hate a flashback episode. And one that ends 10 seconds after the last episode is entirely useless. We all…
I remember my first crush well and I still think about them every now and then very fondly. It's not that I haven't got over them, it's that they hold a very special place in my heart and that will never go away because it's one of my most cherished memories.
I really love this series. It's so understated but so powerful for me, when the episode end, I always want more. I guess I'm in the minority here but I enjoyed this flashback episode.
I keep wondering if I watched the same series everyone else here did. I don't usually post negative comments but…
I don't think it's the actors' fault. These specials are pretty badly written and filmed and won't favor any actors. The scenes are terribly disjointed, the editing is not good.
Taiwanese series lean heavily on fan-service and cutesie moments which I don't mind, it's actually why I watch these, but I wish they also paid more attention to cinematography and tried more to add artistic value. The writing is too silly, the plots are often immature and non-nonsensical, the dialogues sound artificial and superficial most of the time. Maybe this can be considered a style choice but it doesn't gel with my preference.
They are cute together and they have wonderful chemistry. But I wish the writing was better and natural. I enjoy fluffy and sweet but the plot needs to be better. Oftentimes everything feels so artificial, it really takes me out of the story, it's like screaming, this is just a silly little series, we don't need anything to seem natural or real. Anyways, it was good to see them again.
What happened to the chemistry between them? It vanished. The writers are coming up with these weird non-nonsensical plots for these specials. I want to see them happy but can it be in a more natural environment? The scenes are so disjointed from one another and the dialogue is painful. But I guess they're still kinda cute together.
Whenever a series become very popular and I am not able to get into it (eg Legend of Shenli, QoT, Atypical Family…
I second all of the above, I can understand the sentiment of not liking a popular series but not the constant shit posting and attacking the people that enjoyed this. Like what is the end game here other than just showing they're bitter at other people's enjoyment?
Different strokes for different folks, but I don't think the score is misleading :)
Maybe it's a masterpiece for those who loved it, and they're not just a few people. Sorry, but you don't get to dictate what rom-com should be like for everybody else.
Yeah, it sucks that you didn't enjoy and you couldn't really participate in the hype, unfortunately most people did and I don't see how taking personally their enjoyment is going to help you. It's fine to be critical of a series you didn't like but being frustrated at other people because they enjoyed it is pointless. Especially when it's a series as innocuous at this.
