Their relationship evolves much faster. They start dating much earlier in the manga. The series is the slowest of burns, which normally I wouldn't mind, but since I read the manga, I thought the show will follow the events in it and I'm a bit disappointed it's not the case.

Taishin in the manga seemed to be just about as much of a naive and clueless about everything. But maybe the show Taishin is a bit more exagerated.

Taishin's intention was not even to pursue him. Takara conforted him in one of he's saddest moments when his beloved pet, his best friend died. He felt lonely and sought some kind of connection with that person he met on the mountain. Sure, it time it becomes as their friendship blooms.

I agree. I've had friends like that and I used to be like that, the doe in front of the headlights. It's something that usually happens when you have helicopter parents or you lead a very sheltered childhood and adolescence.

Emotionally unintelligent people have very basic understanding of things. They don't understand nuance and they feel a compulsion to label everything based on their poor understanding of the world.
