Title Liar Spoiler
He's not engaged. His father is pushing the engagement but he never proposed.
I've watched it. I mean, I didn't find it terrible but it's not my fave either. Just as a heads up if you're sensitive to cheating plots, he does have a girlfriend when he has his first kiss with the FL, and then he tries to break up with the gf the same night, but she throws a fit and doesn't accept the break up so he drags that relationship too for a while. Otherwise, there's a lot of angst but also chemistry between the leads.

He's not married. He actually tried to break up with his gf very soon after the FL confeses but the gf won't accept it and latches on to him.

Wow wow wow.. it's a very good drama. I feel in a roller coaster ride with the hidden emotion that each character…
I didn't really change that much after the 3rd episode. I think Yurika was the worse communicator of the 2. She was never her authentic self around Kaoru, she never told him how she really felt, what she thought. She played at being cute so that's all he thought of her. She expected him to guess, to magically understand what she was all about. Relationships don't work that way, it's a naive, unfair expectation. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this slice of life mini-show.

I know, I know... BUT the amnesia plot is completely overdriven by the amazing storyline and emotions and 10/10…
Thanks for letting me know, if there are other parts of the story that are really great despite this plot then I'm reconsidering watching this.

I like the leads but I'm still not a fan of the premise: PRETENDING TO BE A DOCTOR and treating him with pseudo-science. I wish they had come up with something else. Anyways, he will feel very betrayed when he finds out.

I'm a bit traumatized after watching this. There really are people like those bullies in the world and it scares me.

Yagi's acting in the last episode? Chef's kiss. He was so good that it caught me off guard.
I know, right? I hope he had a long career in acting ahead of him.

Am I the only one who loved both the OSTs? Follow is so addictive and when it played at the end it got me so hyped…
No, I loved it too.

This is probably my least favorite version after the Korean one and it has nothing to do with production value but the way the story was told.

The amount of violence against women is shocking. This version of DMS did the most unforgivable things to Shancai and didn't even apologize for it. At the same time, this version of Shancai was the least sympathetic despite having suffered the most, she was infuriating most of the time, I could not understand her decisions. I also didn't see much chemistry between her and DMS anyways. She was one second obsessed with Lei and kissing and hugging him like there's no tomorrow and claiming to be in love with DMS the next. And for once, I was 100% Lei biased, his beautiful face and calm demeanor just steal the show. I like Jerry but the way they wrote his character in this was too much of me, I was genuinely afraid for Shancai and I couldn't ship it.

I understand that this is the OG but I don't think it's aged that well, I'm going to stick to the 2018 one for rewatches.

I hated the ending. The only satisfying would've been with Rui either dead, in jail, or in a mental institution. You know what, insolated in solitary would be the best option so she couldn't hurt any more people.

True…the same goes for people who liked the ending….I see people bashing and questioning others who disliked…
Agreed, people who liked the ending should not be basing people who hated it.

These comments are not the majority for sure, but there were several that were super hateful and it's hard to see why anyone would have that kind of reaction.

I had seen several comments attacking the writers and the actors, you might have not seen them, but they were there. There were also comments saying how there must be something wrong with people who loved the ending. Another user was replying to comments to people who liked the ending with 'you're stupid and ugly. Maybe they were deleted, maybe they just got lost in the sea of comments but they were there last week. There are also other platforms where some people people had similar reactions.

Since when is calling someone a preteen that's not used to social media name-calling? It is somewhat condescending but it's hardly an insult to call someone immature. If you paid attention you would see I mentioned 'some people', not everybody that talked about the ending in a critical way so I don't see why you'd be triggered?

Some people's reaction in the comment is absolutely hysterical. First of all, it's fine that you didn't approve of the ending. But the fact that you had such a visceral reaction shows that it's an impactful full show, a show that's providing food for thought. Secondly, it's a nuanced show. It's not spoon-feeding you and telling you how you should feel, It's just portraying a slice of life.

- Plenty of people saw the ending, not as a happy ending but as a realistic portrayal of a cautionary tale.
- Plenty of people saw this as romanticizing a toxic relationship.
- A few people saw this as a beautiful story about how love can make people change.

The interpretation of this depends on each person's experience and perspective. I think we should all take a breath to remember that it's a show, it's ok to have diverging opinions, and remain respectful while discussing our disagreements.

But I've seen in the comments some people who are extremely angry about the ending and take it out on people who enjoyed the show and the people involved in making it. I'm sorry but how am I supposed to take it seriously the opinion of someone who throw tantrums on a forum and launches ad hominem attacks on other viewers, the writers, and the actors of the show? It makes me feel like I'm confronted with a preteen just let loose on the internet. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to blow a gasket.
