Some might disagree but I believe they are dead for sureee. No plot armor in this world can save those injuries...…
Goodness. Why wouldn't they after everything that had happened? Also this was Yuan Zhou's biggest wish, to get away from all of them and no longer be pawns for the powerful. Yuan Zhou initially faked his death but was forced to return when the prime minister found out he was alive and forced to take that poison to serve him. Watching all his friends die due to the machinations of the power hungry... Geez, I would be surprised if he didn't do this.
Yea am not sure why people insist it's am illusion. It makes no sense for Chu Yue to hallucinate this.
Yup. Just need to parse the clues together. I guess if the afterlife story gives you more comfort, go for that! But imho if it was truly the afterlife and she was dead it would be YSS on that horse not that kid. Why would she even dream him up or that he is the one to usher her to meet her friends?

That's Deng Hui, Ding is one of the Six Royal Helms soldiers.
The scene with them riding - she was imagining them in the past, how they were before the war, while she hugged the boy. Also, the clue with the life preserving pill that Qian Zhao gave Yuan Zhuo when they parted ways. I immediately thought, hmm the writer put it there for a reason. The way they started the show faking their deaths so it made sense that it ended with them doing the same. Just because the scenery looks cgi doesn't mean it's a dream. There are far more evidence of Ruyi and NyZ being alive than its all an illusion.
Yea. There are just far more evidence pointing to the fact that they faked their death vs it's an illusion or even the theory that Chu Yue is in the afterlife.
I personally think people just want the ending spoonfed to them, or to be told very outright that it's a HE with happy dinners and kids running around. It would've cheapened the story. The way they ended it was fitting for the. They started the show faking their deaths, and they ended it doing the same. It is rather poetic.
I watched it 3x to see if I misinterpreted it. It's not like Mysterious Lotus Casebook where it is really open ended. There was enough clues here to come to the conclusion that they are both alive.
Slightly ambiguous. So, bittersweet. We are led to believe all the characters die. Until the last scene where…
Or Chu Yue could have just died and didn't realise it, and the kid was there to bring her to be reunited with her friends. Many ways to interpret it. I wouldn't put it behind the old spy Deng to fake his death either.
Where does the illusion start and stop then? She holds the boy in her arms, and imagines them all riding horseback…
I agree with you. If you tell me 'it's all an illusion"is not as realistic. Another interpretation is that maybe Chu Yue died, didn't realise it, and the kid was there to bring her to her friends. That's another beautiful ending π
To me it was obvious she was remembering how they were when they were alive. And she was going off to see his parents after that. I am a little puzzled why people are insisting this is an illusion and stating it as fact. Uh. Why would she suddenly hallucinate them out of nowhere?
If you see "subtle ending" in CY's vision (in that vision, they are ali e) then you haven't seen NYZ stabbed multiple…
Lol of course they can. This is crazy wuxia after all. Anyway, not sure why people are using reality as a measure of what could or could be true. I mean people fly in this drama π

You should still put it in spoilers cos not everyone got the express package. Yes I would have preferred a long happy ending like wonderland of love's but that wouldnt have fit the tone of the story. π€·ββοΈ
Not sure why people are raining on the parade of people who believe that our two leads survived in the end. Geez, if you believe they died, good on ya. Leave those of us who believe otherwise alone π
