For me personally, it's a little bit of both. At this point, they are still at the learning about each other stage and had just opened up a bit about themselves to each other. It's true that he was also reminding her not to fall in love because it's against the rules and Ying Yuan, for a thousand years, has been a law-abiding deity. However, it could also mean, in the back of his mind, he's unconsciously jealous (but I wouldn't call it toxic) that Yan Dan likes/ would like someone else in the future, or him beginning to like her at this point. Remember that they didn't openly say their feelings outright later in the episodes, you just have to read between the lines. It depends on how you look at it as a viewer. But that's just my two cents.

Well, it just so happens that Yang Zi and Cheng Yi and the plot were both great in this, so that's a plus 😁. It's not every day we get to see both remarkable actors leading a drama together.

The plot is just secondary to me, actually. When I first saw Yang Zi and Cheng Yi together, I just knew I just had to watch it, and I wasn't disappointed 😊
