I am a little disappointed with how Shunsuke's storyline was handled. He just came back and there was no resolution…
I agree. This show is a mixed bag so far. While I like the development that has happened with Mokomi's character, everything else seems to have fallen flat. All the family members revealed a lot of things & after that, it's just gone quiet? Shinuske stayed out for a week & then just came back? What was the point of the whole revelation then? Mum apologized to Mokomi but she's back to her older ways? Dad also had an outburst & he's back to catering to Mum. Grandpa, as usual, is basking in his glory as though he didn't do anything & he is well above everybody. And there are just 2 episodes left.. I don't know where this is going. Too much focus on her gift which itself is not clear & less on the family dynamics. I can't seem to reconcile the fact that this is the same writer who wrote Osozaki no Himawari, Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru & Shitteru Waifu. Those shows are so contemplative & rich in terms of character dynamics & interactions.
I am looking forward to see where the show goes from here. The whole angle around her gift has been unclear to…
I looked up the internet & there is this term called “anthropomorphizing" where people give human characteristics to non-humans. They do this because they crave social contact & yearn for connections. So it makes me wonder if Mokomi suddenly doesn't see life in the objects anymore because she is now slowly starting to speak her mind with the people around her & thus doesn't need the objects anymore.
A1 drama. DARK, RAW and UNCOMFORTABLE, as expected from my favourite screenwriter Nojima Shinji. This is a drama for an open minded & mature audience. Don't watch if you're triggered by any of these themes - rape, violence, incest, nudity, homosexuality. This drama doesn't sugercoat things & the resolutions may not be what you're looking for but you got to watch it for what it is, & the time it was set in. The leads' relationship was organic & believable. Easily one of the best student/teacher themed romance dramas I have seen (it was more than just romance TBH) Special mention for the ending that was hauntingly beautiful.
I am sorry but I just have to say this. I find your comment ignorant and rude. She is fine the way she is. I hope…
LOL whatever that floats your boat. You are the one who is constantly replying and picking fights. Stay happy in your delusional world. Everybody here has been respectful in their replies. You are the one crossing the line.
If you don't like J dramas, don't watch them. Why come to this comment section & make such generic comments that they are all bad? If you prefer K dramas, you are free to watch them & enjoy them. There is no need to compare. Don't make it a K drama VS J drama fight.
RE: The female lead. She is NOT fat. And even if she is, what is it to you? You don't need to keep repeating it. Like I said, you find her fat & unattractive then don't watch. None of us are putting a gun to your head to ask you to watch. It's like you're trying to pick a fight on purpose.
RE: LGBT. Fine if you don't approve of it, but don't discredit & look down on other people's struggles. Live & let live? Again, I will repeat this so that you can get it. Nobody is putting a gun to your head & forcing you to watch this.
You say that we are judging you, but aren't you judging the characters in the drama as well? Fact is all humans are judgmental af. It's about how open & honest you are about it. You seem intolerant about a lot of things & that is fine as long as you don't go about preaching to others what to do.
In short, LIVE & LET LIVE. Sayonara (which means bye bye)

Hi! May I know where you watched this drama? I can't find it anywhere :(
The trouble is, that even "recommended"J-Dramas often pale in comparison to their Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese counterparts…
I have actually thought about it & felt tempted to write one but I'm too busy these days. Maybe one day some of us should collab & do an article together.
Well I've seen most of the cast in dramas here & there but I wasn't really planning on watching for any of them. Wanted to watch for the storyline.. sounds interesting :) YAY glad a subber is picking this up!
And another drama added to my watchlist thanks to this cast! The entire April line up looks so good, seems like I'll be watching more than 10 J dramas at the same time again HAHA
I'm sorry but I hated that the doc slapped the ML (his patient) & used such demeaning language to "cure" his alcohol addiction. Maybe I'm overtly sensitive but I dropped it after that scene. It didn't help that 20 mins in, the plot wasn't hooking me. Sad because I like the leads, & also Japanese movies/drama set in small towns.

I LOVEEEE HIM! *adds to watchlist*
