Kisarazu Cat's Eye (i can't remember the direction style of this but it was written by Kudo Kankuro)

Also I'd say give more of Kudo Kankuro's works a try.. he is lucky to get great directors for his scripts. Tomo features in a lot of his work, and Tomo has lots of iconic comedies to his credit, like Unubore Deka, Ore no Ie no Hanashi, My Boss My Hero.

Sameeee! I grew up Taiwanese and Japanese dramas.. they were the best at sucking you in with the feels.. I miss those days so much!

Btw I just finished this and it was fantastic... not sure if you've seen this taiwanese drama
