WOW THIS WAS FREAKING DARK AND AMAZING! I AM BLOWN AWAY BY THE LAST FEW EPISODES.A solid multi-perspective psychological…
Random but I had to say it. It's uncanny how much Angela Chang began to look and sound like Rainie Yang in the last few episodes...
The story was a solid 10 but the direction could have better, like a good mystery tends to some interesting frames / cinematography / camerawork / lighting.. that's the only thing this lacked IMO. It was shot like an ordinary drama. And it's nothing to do with it's time.. it's simply a case of a mediocre cameraman / director. Or maybe I watched it in the poor quality available and so was not able to appreciate the lighting and cinematography.
There's one just 1 very minor point - I would have loved to know what happened to Yi Jing's partner in crime (that girl Ah Sa who was on the verge of going crazy)
But other than that it was pretty perfect. And it's very rare that you can find a mystery that is actually so well written, so gripping and well-structured (with each episode dominated by a theme as per the episode titles). I absolutely love how she brought on her own death and all those people she manipulated actually contributed to her downfall.
The drama also had so many well-written dialogues that I'd love to quote.
"I spent my life destroying other people's lives, little did I know that I destroyed my own life as well..."
"I once said 99 true words, no one believed me. I once said a single lie, everyone believed me. From then on, I realized that we are living a life full of lies."
"Love and betrayal co-exist. It doesn't mean that if you betrayed the one you love, you love him less. Nor does it mean that if you love someone, you will not betray him.."
"Envy and admiration are the same. It's just that people believe that admiration sounds less evil…"
"You thought I was young and innocent, but I absorbed every word you said. But you did not notice, for like you, I was good at pretending... it was you who taught me to be that way!"
"They say that if you have been kissed by an angel, you will have a pair of invisible wings. In times of fear, those wings of yours will spread open and will bring your own heaven"
WOW THIS WAS FREAKING DARK AND AMAZING! I AM BLOWN AWAY BY THE LAST FEW EPISODES. A solid multi-perspective psychological and suspense drama that holds up despite its age. Gripping till the last scene, tight-scripted with layered and complex characters, well-structured screenplay with little plotholes / loose ends, and well-acted. One can't ask for more. Angela Chang did well as both twins. Highly recommend this one for those who enjoy the genre.
P.S This drama is way too underrated. Sad that even most T-drama enthusiasts don't know about this gem.

A lot of doctors praised it for being one of the most authentic portrayals of the field of neurosurgery.
