Am sure if the article said something wrong about LR you will not say this 🙃🫡!!
My first comment got lost, then I had to write it again. Thank you for letting me know, I deleted one of them. Also, you should read carefully before getting defensive. I never said that you insulted anyone. It's just that you're defending QOT left and right, and I find it just too funny LOL

wow! You've been really busy replying to every single member that dislikes even a little bit QOT... I thought you were only doing it in the chatroom of the drama page, but it seems you are everywhere, and actually did it also for this article since the first day it was published LOL
Well, we understand that you dislike the drama—that's your opinion, and we totally respect that. However, your…
You are wrong. An opinion is totally different from "data". Go to the ratings of this drama and you'll see that only 4% of the ratings were given by teenagers (13-17). Adults 18-24 have 15% of the ratings. AND the huge majority of 81% of ratings were given by members older than 35 years old with an average "8.2-8.6" rating. If we were friends, I'd kindly advise you to check the facts before complaining about a drama, especially one so popular in so many places and sites, and also to be careful of your words, because in "your opinion" you basically looked down on teenagers' tastes. They are part of our big MDL community and we care about them.

I didn't expect to laugh so much in the first episodes, tbh. I also loved the main leads acting and story, so I just added the second season to my pending list.
Someone, please suggest some drama with a soft-hearted male lead, tired of rich possessive ML. I guess I have…
Soft-hearted ML and very good love stories, that are not in your list yet: Amidst a snowstorm of love Encounter One spring night When the camellia blooms Long Vacation (Japan)
It doesn't matter who the actor is,if you felt the drama disappointed you then that's on the writer sometimes…
Cable is insignificant in SK. In my personal opinion, any high percentage for a single episode in a cable tv in SK is not a great achievement at all.
As a hard fan of KSH, I was relieved that QOT was from TVn because TVn has an alliance with Netflix. allowing simultaneous releases. The fact that QOT was in top 10 Netflix views in several countries, that’s what in my opinion, is a great achievement.
The reasons are:
- Pay tv in SK has only about 32 million subscribers. Pay TV is = cable, plus IPTV (internet protocol tv) like hulu, netflix, amazon, disney, apple, plus satellite.
- Although IPTV is growing (50% of pay tv subscribers) and leaving behind cable, it still has tiny market share in SK
- Worse, TVn only has 3.8 million subscribers. CJ, owner of TVn, OCN and Chunghwa, has only 12% of pay tv (while KT has like half).
- This means that any drama with a popular artist can get high single episode views in TVn like QOT did.
- But thankfully, QOT could reach a lot of subscribers abroad and maintain my dear KSH popularity, even if they didn't like the drama that much, like me, because nowadays views weigh more than rating lol
I like the FL and she's quite pretty and acting is fine but the ML, not so much. He's passive and dull. Rating…
I think you and I have similar tastes, so go to my list, click on the column title "Score"" to sort them by highest rating, and see if there are some that you may want to watch. No guarantee that you'll also like them, but it gives you a list to consider :D

Actually, these viewership ratings are only meaningful inside Korea: - For public and cable TV (not even pay on demand is included), to maximize what they can negotiate with advertisers before and during the show. - For artist is meaningful at time of contract negotiation -The most popular an artist, the most he/she can charge.
That's the reason for all the noise Tvn has made about QOT being the top for that channel, the promotion campaign making it look so spectacular that it even surpassed Crash landing on you in that channel. But Both CLOY and QOT are low in the K-dramas ranking of viewers by nationwide average and single episode. There are a bunch of K-dramas average in the 25-35% range and higher. And dramas with single episodes higher than 40%.
I started collecting this data because all those top shows, which also won many awards, have very low rating in MDL, and I want to see them, at least the highest ones.
Outside Korea, there's no consolidated data about how many people watched a drama around the world via OTT like Netflix, Viki, amazon, or free web channels. I read that Netflix changed its popularity ranking by using views instead of hours, last year. So going forward we might have a more reliable ranking from them.

That's the rating of the highest single episode. The true rating of dramas (used by production companies, advertising agencies, etc) is the nationwide average viewership (or city wide average for specific measuring), which was 15.6% for QOT. There's always been an additional ranking per single episode viewership, erroneously used as "total viewership", and which is used for dramas' promotion, or comparison among single episodes of each drama.

Agree 100%. He's one of my favorite K-actors, and I just felt bad I had to give a 7 to one of his dramas. Thankfully, he's such a great and popular actor, that viewership improved during the series and ended in average nationwide viewership of 15.6%, And it also has a decent 7 in chinese douban as well (there it's illegally watched).

Please someone tell me if this is true, because this is one of my strongest pet peeves and a factor in my decision to watch or not.
