Viki still hasn't corrected many wrong translations. The best right now are those on Kisskh although they have…
I do have favorite k-dramas and I rewatch a few of my faves when I need a ‘romantic-comfort-time’, with some comedy, or some action, or just pure romance: One Spring Night 2019 – What’s wrong with secretary Kim 2018 – The greatest love 2011 – My love from the star 2018 – Encounter 2018 – Go Back Couple 2017 – Healer 2014 – Goblin 2016 – I have a lover 2015 (this one didn't age well, it's like a soap opera, but I love the love story of the main leads)

It will be easier for you than for me, to formally start studying Mandarin. I think it's worthy, given that there have been increasingly better c-dramas than k-dramas =Note to k-drama addicts = Please don't hate me, it's been MY recent experience LOL
In what country is Hel and Hersin? I tried Google. Hersin in FRANCE and Hel in POLAND? My friends also ask me…
At the end of her article about Snooker (in recent discussions above) Frost_edelweiss said that the names are fictitious (it seems there's a rule for modern chinese dramas that places shouldn't be easily mistaken by real ones even if the script is realistic)

Yes, that's one of them, the context was to convey that the ML was making it clear that he was very serious about the relationship. In ep 9, she sends him a voice note asking him 2 questions: 'Do you have a girlfriend?' Or someone in between?' The second meant if he was 'seeing' someone while he pursues her, but Viki translated it as "Or is it better to be here or not? ' (???) In ep 13, the advise the ML gave to the other guy in the pool area was also sloppily translated by Viki (thankfully I had already seen that ep in Kisskh). The latest I learned about is at minute 12.10 in ep 14: the FL says to her roommate 'I need to be better than him", but actually she said: 'I need to stay being the King", conveying different intentions (which I'll find out later as I keep on watching). Also, sometimes Viki subs are just literal-machine-translated, like when they write 'Be good' but the ML really meant 'Take care' which has a different objective, and so on. BUT comments are very distracting and I would only recommend turning them on after first watching an episode. For now I rather continue with Kisskh or Tencent, although as I said, they also have omissions. IMO Viki subs are only good for k-dramas, and only for English subs (they have k-dramas with a lot of errors in spanish and french that they have never corrected), but the subbers are volunteers and no matter the quality of their work, I sincerely thank them!

In you rewatch in Viki with the comments 'on', native speakers will highlight the errors or omissions. For me, 2 were important for the plot context in key scenes in ep 9 and 13, therefore I will re-check any strange or ambiguous subs in Kisskh until I finish this drama.
This is one of the very few dramas where I have truly felt like a third wheel. It has the best chemistry I've watched in the last 2 years, and in my opinion also the highest chemistry that Leo Wu has ever had with other FL in his previous dramas. I'm sooooo in love with the acting and chemistry of the main leads, that after I reached ep 13, I started rewatching from the beginning to savor it again, which has happened to me very few times (the last time I did such a mid-drama rewatching was with Love Between Fairy and Devil) I don't want it to end. I'm watching it as slow as I can. I don't want to go back to my slump-list where I have 'on hold' most of the recent high-rated and overhyped dramas in MDL that have failed to keep engaging my interest, and where I include some I forced myself to finish hoping they would get better but never did.
Viki subs have many mistakes, the most recent I spotted: In Ep 9, the FL sent the ML a voice note asking him 'Do you have a girlfriend or someone in between?', and Viki put: 'Do you have a girlfriend? Or is it better to be here or not?' LOL
hi, have you seen Silent? It's japanese, and the ML is deaf like this one.

I agree ! Also If you are deeply aware about indian topics , and then you are picking the caste issues along with…
Out of all the comments in this thread that are inaccurate, I'm only going to reply to yours because I deeply know the subject. Most Indians in the US that earn such salaries, are with the H1-B visa, and usually stay like that for years, because the US has a huge backlog of approvals for Indians to get the green card that ranges from 13 years (2005) to 9 years (2015) because there are too many Indians wanting to live in the US. The H1-B visa legally requires that the person holding such visa earns the same salary of an American in the same position, therefore there's no way that Indian employees are earning more in each position (the Labor Dept is very strict with this). But I understand why Indians want to work in the US, since as of 2020, the average per capita income in the United States was around $63,400 while the per capita income in India was around $2,100.
Regardless of anyone's personal views on the caste system in India, it's not appropriate for a foreign TV show…
According to what I remember about communication tools, the use of a metaphor is not disrespectful, and you don't have to experience it yourself to use it. A metaphor is a figure of speech (analogy) that describes something by saying it's something else. It is NOT meant to be taken literally, but to provide a fast description so the other party understands it easier/faster. But if a person insults the caste system, then that would be disrespectful.
