I can tell you loved LiP a lot more and I'm with you cuz I def had much more expectations for this (S&B) tho…
I think I'll still enjoy this one while watching the side couples tho (tho I know they take up most of the screentime so idk if they're even called side anymore lmao). Despite the lack of main cp I still feel like I'll enjoy the others but the drama should've focused on them all and not just remove main cp out almost entirely to focus on another. I love how LiP did it. Side couples (esp 2nd cp) got a lot of screentime but main cp wasn't cut out like here in S&B. But anyway let's just watch
i'm watching fangs of fortune right now and i like it. i may be able to finish it by tomorrow. should i watch…
yessss it's so good!!! I loved FoF soooo much too and this WoF is right next to it on my list of favorites already π€ it has a lot of ships you can pair up with too just like FoF! Love the story, plot, cinematography, fight sequences, friendships, and bromances! There's even sismance (not enough of it but still ship it). Also, Tang Lici is one of the most well-written and most interesting characters I've ever seen. Luo Yunxi portrays him soooo perfectly (he plays different types of characters of him too and slays them all). Every actor in this drama just slays tho ππ»ππ»ππ»
Yes I have so much to say about this drama bc it's just that good. I know people have their own opinions tho but I hope this drama doesn't disappoint you. Personally I loved it already from Ep.1 and instead of it going downhill, it just keeps getting better and better! You'll def be amazed by the CGI and effects of it too. Story may be complex but it's sooo interesting. Every arc leaves you wanting to watch more. You'll never know what to expect in each episode bc they give you lots of surprises π€
Well, watch it and see if you'll like it. To me it's one of the best I've ever seen. Definitely 'Best Drama of the Year' for me!
Since it is related to FSMM series , I thought that we will watch Fuguiβs story but I guess I was wrong. Seven…
I can tell you loved LiP a lot more and I'm with you cuz I def had much more expectations for this (S&B) tho I only watched Ep.10 but it's still enjoyable just not as good as how I felt when watching LiP. I remember waiting for episodes everyday bc it was so fun and the friendship was just so fun and beautiful to watch and I loved all the cps in that drama too! I really miss them a lot. Everything about it was so good and enjoyable except for the ending. I don't feel the same here for S&B and knowing that things get so downhill in the second half with main cp making no progress in their romance and Fugui not being able to live the life he wants and being a self-sacrificing tool... and the main leads becoming cameos/guests... yeah.... not having high expectations now
Sooo, quick question. I wasn't in the mood for Love in Pavilion when it came out, and now that we all know it…
I personally would recommend to watch LiP but you don't have to if you don't want to. I personally really loved Love in Pavilion... so when they show flashbacks of what happened there and mention every character that I loved there, it makes me really emotional and miss them so much more :( If you didn't watch LiP, you won't feel that emotion when watching S&B but it's really up to you if you want to watch it or not. Preference but I really love the way they did that drama compared to this one. The friendships were so fun to watch there as well. I only watched Ep.10 of S&B and it's quite enjoyable for me so far but I heard main cp become cameos/guest roles in the second half (like 5 mins to even 1 min or even less per episode) so I'm not gonna expect much anymore but still will look forward to the other cps to watch. Just so sad they make main cp like this and I hear FL becomes worse so... I hope you enjoy watching tho if you end up watching it!
As someone who hasn't watched the previous installments, Sword and Beloved is the only par of this trilogy that…
Sadly I feel like the drama does not do justice to the trailers. They make the trailers look cool but the drama isn't as good as what I see in the trailers. But I still do enjoy it and watched only 10 eps so far but unfortunately I've been seeing so many negative comments about this drama and how main cp become cameos in the second half so idk what to expect (like maybe 5 mins per episode, heck 1 min for Fugui in one of the latest episodes)... so I am not expecting much from this drama now but will still see how I'll go with it. I preferred LiP a lot more. That one I really enjoyed a lot except for the ending. The friendships there were so fun to watch! And I just loved so many of the characters there too! I'm still excited and looking forward to seeing the new cps in the later half (of S&B) but don't have much excitement now after hearing that there is no progress in the main cp's romance and how many don't even care about FL anymore but we'll see...
In fact, many viewers dropped it because of the complexity of the plot, saying they could not understand what…
lol I didn't read the novel but I've seen people talk about it too. Despite the toxic relationship, I wanna try reading it one day. I just tend to be bad at reading novels tho I have so many danmei books I bought starting last year lol! Also I don't completely hate Liuyan but I do wish soon his redemption arc will come since we're already halfway. Just hope it doesn't happen in the end of the drama where he finally believes in ML esp since how many times ML tried to tell him to believe him but just doesn't. Makes me question why he chooses to believe in Gui Mudan whom I'm sure he doesn't feel much bond with Tang Lici whom he spent some years (don't remember how long tho oof) with in Zhoudi Tower (whom Fang Zhou, the person he trusted most, trusted and loved). I also can't wait to see his regretful face too omg why am I looking so forward to it so much lol he deserves it for not believing in ML this whole time. If he did, they could've already resurrected Fang Zhou already (but I guess that would be too easy and early right? LOL)
I havenβt watched the other two dramas in this trilogy. does that affect my watch experience? and are both relevant…
If I were you, I would watch Love in Pavilion bc they talk about the characters in that drama often and show flashbacks of them. So if you watch this before LiP, you're gonna get spoiled a lot of the ending of that drama. Also if you watch LiP first, you're gonna get more emotional when they talk about and show flashbacks of the characters in LiP :) And like the person said above, yes, ML aka Fugui, is the son of the main couple in LiP
Maybe it's just me but I can't really imagine watching this before watching Love in Pavilion because of all the flashbacks they give, and the sad ending that they already spoiled to us already there. Whenever they bring back the past, it makes me really sad and emotional. It makes me miss the characters more from LiP :( I remember loving that drama so much and feeling really attached with the characters, the friends, the mask group... And hearing so many familiar names makes me really emotional.
Like Quzhuo is there who was close to Hongye, but not sure why we never got to see how they met each other again bc they thought the other died for example... I'm only 9 eps in but not sure if I can feel the close bond they had in LiP unfortunately :( Unless they show it more later on but idk. Hongye feels so different here. I loved him so much in LiP but why can't I feel that way for him here? I would've preferred the same actor just with an older look for the attachment and feeling more for him I guess bc one can't change that much as he's already in his late 30s! Same with Quzhuo bc wdym he looks the same 20 years in the future in LiP (just older) but then here he looks way different! I just can't feel the attachment when I see him here since he looks completely different! And tbh I don't even remember what he looks like in S&B whenever I see him or just tend to forget that that's him, the character I adored in LiP!
Anyways, if you didn't watch LiP, you probably wouldn't know that Ding Yuxi played Zhang Zheng for example and maybe some other characters they mentioned. I really loved Zhang Zheng soooo much! His story was REALLY sad especially with his DOPPLEGANGER!!!! He legit had chemistry with himself haha! You wouldn't wanna miss that one out! Also, I didn't even know he had a son LOL! I'm sure that's a plothole cuz they never showed Meng Ziyi's character being pregnant oof! But anyways... I'm in his son's arc right now so.... :) Also not to mention Zhang Zheng just joined the mask group right before he died so I'm not sure if what they say here in S&B about him being loyal to Hongye is really right but okay...
But dang it does really make me sad to see what Hongye has become because I remember how he and his wife would talk about what his son would be like in the future only for him to treat him so terribly, not fulfilling Huaizhu's dying wish to let him choose the path he wants. I know he went thru a lot but I just can't see Hongye being THAT bad esp since I loved him in LiP but not feeling it here... oh well....
Also tell me, Hongye has a brother????? But in LiP, they only showed him having a sister, Wangquan Zui... so when I thought about it, I was like, "Wait, how come I don't remember him having a brother in LiP?" so I had to check if he was in LiP, and I was right. He was not there at all. I don't even remember if they mentioned him at all in LiP bc I only knew he had a sister. But maybe I just don't remember oof... hate his brother sm btw, way too evil! Feel bad Rumu has a father like him!
Well, that's too long. Sorry for the rant. I'm done now haha def missing LiP a lot but enjoying this one so far despite some things that kinda bother me but it's still enjoyable!
They finally released the OSTs for this drama after months like???? I've been searching and searching. Not sure when they did it but it was definitely recently! I am so happy bc the OSTs in the drama are just so beautiful and make me emotional when I think about the scenes, moments, memories of everyone here π₯Ή
I'm watching Sword and Beloved and can't imagine if I didn't watch this before watching it cuz they really talk about so many characters from this drama and show flashbacks of them too so if you hear so many familiar names or see flashbacks, you're gonna be missing the characters here more! But if you watch S&B without watching LiP, you won't feel as emotional if yk what I mean. But you'll also get spoiled about the sad ending unfortunately oof. Dang I miss them all really :(
Anyone noticed that the episodes have been re edified and extended ? Ep2 , they added TLC entering the cherry…
Yesss omggg after finding out, it made me so happy! Gotta look back at every clip they add now lol! I heard they also added one in the end of Ep.1 as well!
In fact, many viewers dropped it because of the complexity of the plot, saying they could not understand what…
Yes Ep.18 was sooo good! The fight scene was so epic and the CGI and effects were fireee!!! I just watched first half of Ep.19 and that was INTENSE! Really emotional seeing those flashbacks of what happened back in Zhoudi Tower :( Oh Liuyan tho, he continues to disappoint me. When will he believe in Tang Lici for once π You know during their fight scene, I was so worried he could literally destroy Fang Zhou's heart and give him no chance to live. Liuyan would regret that so hard. I hope he has a redemption arc soon! I thought he was going to until he just started believing in Gui Mudan's words ughhhhhh Gui Mudan is the manipulator, not Tang Lici. Unfortunately he chose to believe in the wrong guy oof but anyways despite this, the whole drama is just a 10/10 for me. Been since the beginning and will till the end I have a feeling cuz it's already in my top 3 fav dramas LOL! Like I could just rate it now haha
In fact, many viewers dropped it because of the complexity of the plot, saying they could not understand what…
So true. I wonder why. Cuz I tend to get more bored and tired with similar plots and cliches or things that are TOO easy to predict. The reason why I am loving SLY sm is bc of how complex it is and how each episode you learn smth different and explore new things and adventure to new places. It's just so fun and such a ride! It feels like I am in an adventure with them wanting to learn and unravel things with them. Not to mention you don't even know what to expect for the next episode... which makes it even more exciting bc nothing is predictable atp lol! It is just so fun!!!! Been a while since I watched a drama like this!
Like actuallyyyyyyAnd I don't know if your comment is praising LITC or questioning the hype but I'm just gonna…
WOWWW I AGREE WITH YOU SM OMGGG!!!! Moonlight Mystique the best drama of the year IMO (and now I'm watching Whispers of Fate, hope it goes higher cuz it's sooooo good)... Moonlight Mystique was too cool, epic, much more interesting storyline, the arcs were just all soooo good, despite so many sad things going on, but I really did love the angst (not to mention both the main cp and 2nd were sooo good - esp 2nd cp, their story arc was just too good and chemistry off the charts). And yes FoF chemistry was way too good especially between the guys! But I did love the friendship there much more for some reason tho LITC did have a decent one too. I just felt a lot more with FoF and Moonlight Mystique in terms of chemistry, angst, storyline, and plot :) I am still really shocked how high LITC is, like I feel like the main story wasn't THAT gripping to me like yes the chemistry is good but I do need a good and interesting storyline for me to like the drama more... I also did wish I felt more for the characters in LITC but for some reason I didn't feel too much for them as I wished I had and I think it's cuz they don't dive into them that much nor give us much backstory to them which I guess makes me feel less for them compared to some other dramas.
[HUGE SPOILER FOR MM - DON'T READ IF YOU DIDN'T WATCH!!!!] Let me say smth that I wished they had done better in LITC that they did a lot better in Moonlight Mystique. About the family... When Mu Jiu found out that he had met his father and mother in the fox arc and that it would be the only time he'd meet them, he felt really sad and emotional... :( The way he cried so much. I felt more for him compared to Mingyi finding out about how she met her mother once too... also the "siblings". I really love how in MM, they had focused on this a lot (Fu Ling and Qi Feng being siblings of both the leads) while in LITC (the child swap), they only did it in Ep.30-31 or smth like that and never focused on it until the end. If they had, it would have been a much more interesting drama.
I wished they didn't make Situ Ling the character he is because in the novel he doesn't even become like that. Rather, Zheng Tiao, who barely got any screentime in the drama, I believe (I didn't read the novel, just saying what I believe I remember reading) was the 2ML and the 2nd most interesting character in the novel who helped Ji Bozai win in the tournaments. I saw ppl say "HE FINALLY APPEARS!!!!" Like I see ppl saying that they finally see them after waiting for him for so long? I can't believe how important he was in the novel that the writers decided to give Situ Ling the screentime instead of him like their screentime got swapped which does piss me off a lot. Would've much preferred to see Zheng Tiao than Situ Ling. I look at Situ Ling and for some reason, he feels OOC for me most of the time like I do not believe he would become like that but unfortunately the writers are obsessed with those kind of characters I guess
Let me be honest and say the most interesting arc for me in this drama was Xunming like he was barely shown and I was like "Noooo, they killed him off that fast and early????" that was my favorite arc if I'm being honest. So unfortunate they had to kill off an interesting character so early. We could've gotten some huge character development from him too
