What was an example in the novel of how he caged Lanxiang? Thank goodness our drama-version isn’t like this!

What did Lanxiang mean when she said that Marquis’ mother had wanted to use the Lin family as her blade? That implied that the mother really didn’t want to go along with the Yuan clan’s scheme.

Because he’s a smart guy with many resources for sleuthing and discovering people’s true identities, especially early on when he was still working for the emperor. His gut instincts told him pretty early on that Lanxiang was different when he first discovered that she could read amongst many other things. He could have easily dug into the truth when he first thought about how oddly advanced she was. But, then again, we wouldn’t have had a show for this many episodes if he had done that!

So, who all was in on the “trap” to get property for Third Young Madam’s daughters? Did Third Young Madam and Jinqi’s mother cook it up together? Also, was the Marquis’s mother really on board with getting the concubine? Or, was she just being manipulated by the Yuan clan to push the concubine onto the Marquis? I didn’t follow all of those details clearly.

He’s waaaaay too slow. 🤦🏾‍♀️😅🤣🤭. He shoulda been figured this out around episode 15 or so.
