He’s already showing pangs of conscience when he forces her to submit. So, yes, redemption for him will be believable, in my opinion. You can tell he’s in a state where here he’s reevaluating his values.

I blame the Director. It’s the Director’s job to guide the actor into bring out the best performance. I think XRH could do it with better direction.

At the start of the drama, in the first few episodes, I wasn’t feeling his performance. He seemed like a caricature of a bad guy instead of an actual bad guy. At episode 14, however, his performance is solid. I thoroughly understand who Changxuan is. He’s not pretending to be a bad guy. He actually IS a bad guy—a complex and conflicted bad guy with a conscience, that is. A bad guy who wants to thoroughly possess and cage the woman he loves, but who also wants real passion with her as well. A bad guy with his own twisted sense of morality, but still has boundaries he’s unwilling to cross. A bad guy who’s deeply perplexed and reevaluating what it means to love someone. He doesn’t understand properly. Pingjun is making him reevaluate a lot of his values. Ryan Cheng’s good acting is finally making me understand all the complex nuances of Changxuan’s character. But, at the start of the drama, I wasn’t buying his performance as a bad guy yet.

She did well in the almost r*pe scene. Her anguish and pleading were on point.

Totally agree. She’s really beautiful though. But, yeah the acting is inconsistent. Some scenes are done well, but some are not.

If I’m being honest, this is not Ryan Cheng’s strongest performance either. I blame the Director because we all know how good Ryan Cheng is from his other roles. Something is just off with the whole drama. But, I’m still into it because the leads have good chemistry.

She has these teasing smirk faces whenever she defies him. So I’m never sure what’s really going on with her.

The acting is off. At times, XHR carries a smile in her face when the scene should be deadly serious and full of tension (like in these latest interactions with Changxuan at Redleaf). During the hostage scene with the injured soldier, she had zero fear in her expressions—the scene was poorly done. Other times, she’s quite good—she nailed the anguish when he almost r*ped her in this latest episode. But, overall, I don’t understand what she’s doing with this character. I don’t understand Pingjun’s feelings because XRH has me so confused 🤔.

That was a good drama. I love that ML too. He was really good in “CEO’s Arrange Bride.” That was a nice drama.

He’s very handsome and charismatic. I need more dramas with him as the lead. A modern drama especially. He doesn’t get enough good lead roles.

“Falling into You” with Wang Anyu had some good yearning. That boy was down bad for Gina Jin’s FL character. One of my fave dramas—very light and very hot 🔥. It’s a summer-fun kinda drama.

I like this actress, but she did the fish kisses in “Forbidden Flower”—hot drama, but the kisses were not it. She’s a very bad kisser, but not consistently bad, oddly enough.

She did great with Zhang Linghe in “The Best Thing.” I think she definitely picks and chooses whom she fish kisses and whom she doesn’t. I think if she finds the ML attractive, then she doesn’t do the fish kisses. 😚😅🤭😂Just my silly opinion 😜

I get the impression we’re going to get some good kisses from her with Wang Xing Yue in “Love in the Red Dust.” Their BTS chemistry is stellar 🤩😏 as she was all smiles and giggles in the clips I saw.

Miles Wei was very dominant in the “Perfect and Casual” kiss scenes. So, any kissing ineptitude was camouflaged by him.
