too bad he's a self admitted asshole in real life. if only his personality could be as nice as his face *sigh*
when he stated in at least 2 interviews that he doesn't like unattractive people, that if an attractive person shows up looking a mess that's cool but if an unattractive person does it, that's pathetic, so much so that he does not even want to LOOK at them. to the point that he admits his own friends tell him he's mean. oh yea and then there was the time he complained that he had to do minor roles when he first started acting, which he felt was unfair b/c he was already a successful model. i don't generally read interviews or keep up with actors' personal lives, and him being a jerk isnt going to stop me from watching his stuff, but it's out there, he's a jerk. and he doesnt even deny the comments about unattractive people, claiming only that it was a joke- yea dude a joke you told at least twice to the media.
I think that I am the only one who don't mind the bad boys? And the scene from Secret Garden didn't…
the guy from secret garden was a stalker and some of his behavior bordered on assault. it's just a show, not real, i get it but it's still creepy and gross if you think about it too hard. you dont have to kidnap a chick to be a bad boy or even a complex character.
The no. 1 thing that bores me about male leads is that they're all rich. Why are they all rich?? Can't…
in general the rich thing is all about the fantasy. in Korea specifically it is a societal thing. countless surveys have found that to korean women wealth is more important than looks and even love.
that doesnt mean you never see it in dramas, in Mary Stayed out all night a poor guy ends up getting the girl, but not before he secures himself a more stable income.
i don't think we'll ever see the end of the Goo Jun Pyos completely but at least they arent the only thing on our screens anymore and even they are getting better. i can't remember the last time i saw a korean male lead force a kiss that was not quickly reciprocated.
if you are new to Thai dramas the language does grate in the beginning. even for a Asian drama vet it doesn't sound like anything you've ever heard before. my first thought was "they are not actually saying anything, that is just people clucking at each other!" by the end of the drama though it didn't bother me at all.
as far as N, the fact that he showed his forehead at all totally slowed me down in being able to recognize him. also in his work with VIXX he tends to be dressed/ styled in a very flowerboy way and his performances and gestures tend to lean toward effeminate. there is NONE of that here so if that's you're only experience with him and you dont go in knowing it's him it's not immediately obvious.
Personally I wouldn't say any drama is objectively awful. My opinion on a drama is always going to be biased.…
birth secrets, politics and cover ups are makjang's bread and butter. pretty much the entire past plot line was makjang and it frequently leaked into the present. i dont mind makjang in principle but healer falls into some pretty common makjang pit falls by circling the exact same issues repeatedly destroying momentum.
i think there are many ways to do a drama well but there are a few basic things that are needed for it to be well done. acting, writing, and production are what make any show of any genre well done.
as i've mentioned before though a show doesnt always have to be well done to be enjoyable.
lol! objectively awful drama that you gave it 8 and the average MDL gave it 8.9? define objective and define awful…
i rate dramas based on how much i enjoyed them. a drama can be poorly done objectively but still be a fun watch. when you look at a drama objectively you are looking at how well the various pieces like writing, acting ect were executed.when a show has many things or large elements that are poorly done it's objectively not good. there are many blockbuster movies that are loved by millions that suffer from poor execution. that doesnt make them any less fun to watch.
I am kind of offended that Healer is here, lol. The writing is cohesive, the acting is stellar, and the soundtrack…
the quality of the writing is inconsistent. every time the writers got going they slammed on the breaks. every story has an ebb and flow but in healer it is abrupt and counter productive. boys over flowers is not on the list because it is not good enough to over come it's flaws.
