my comments a little long. it could trigger some but it's not it's not graphic or specific and i think if you made it this far you should be fine.

nice article :)It got me thinking is it human nature (esp if you're into someone) to be irrational and unconsciously/…
let me Mom on you a minute.

IRL when someone is possessive or over protective to the point of stalking that's got nothing to do with how they feel about you. it's about how your behavior reflects on them or whether or not you are showing them the amount of respect they feel they deserve.

but on to your question. it is not human nature. there have always been those who do not respect their partner's autonomy, especially in societies where the behavior is culturally codified (think Thailand, in modern times) but there have also always been people who DO, arguable more. those people don't get any attention b/c they are not breaking laws, hurting people and ruining lives like their counterparts.

there have been several studies done on the motivations of rapists. you can extrapolate down - a bit- to other violations of consent. it's not about emotional or sexual gratification or just being SO interested in a person you can't help yourself. it's about power.

this is why, when a celebrity is accused of such crimes, you often hear people say "what?
why would he do that? he's SO HOT and rich and famous, he could have anyone he wanted!" what he wants is the power over some one else to do what he wants even if the victim doesnt want to comply.

I did not see that coming. Maybe, bc I had a high expectations at first before I watched this drama. It just i…
the FL was terribly written. we're told repeatedly that she's smart and tough but then she keeps doing things that are cosmically stupid. at least half the plot hinges on her doing something so indescribably dumb that i literally turned off the show mid episode in aggravation.

a new actress might help the chemistry but it's going to take much better writing and more money to solve the biggest problems this show had.

As an American, I can tell you that he's not really famous in America and didn't become known in America (generally…
for something to be on the top 10 list of dramas in the US is great, but it doesn't really mean much for public recognition. you could drop one of the guys from BTS in the middle of my town (average American suburb) and MAYBE a handful of teenage girls would recognize them.

the audience for dramas in the US is still pretty small. with Netflix if you don't watch something that prompts the algorithm to suggest Asian content to you , you would never know it's there.

i understand why this kind of article gets put up. i don't blame the author or the editor, i don't think anyone on this site had bad intentions by repeating this "news" or commenting on it but i hope that MDL could be above this.

we know that this sort of incessant media coverage and the awful internet feeding frenzy that happens around it is detrimental to celebrities and takes a serious toll on their mental health.

cover the casting news, cover the production news cover the awards news but don't cover two people walking through a parking lot and hanging out. they are people. who they hang out with and date, or don't, is frankly none of anyone's damn business.

Ok, so here is my problem with this: I don't like where this is going. If we say that we should not have any more…
a trim toned body achieved through reasonable diet and dedicated exercise is light years away from what Ji Chang Wook had in K2. Even he said it was considerably difficult to maintain and that it got so hard to do they actually decided that the shower scene would be filmed first b/c that look was not sustainable long term.

i'm not talking about an athlete with a 6 pack. i am talking about this unrealistic unsustainable super ripped look that actors are increasing expected to bring.

absolutely. your digestive system requires fat to absorb nutrients, ultra lean proteins diets are killing your kidneys and starving your body. these guys are on the verge of organ failure to look like this. that's not healthy.

I disagree with the position of this article, and to be perfectly honest, I kinda hate the term "problematic"…
lots of east Asian men have little or no chest hair and tend to have over all less body hair.

i agree with your general statements about body shaming but it's important to realize that those chiseled abs (like Ji Chang Wook sports in the K2) are not simply the result of a healthy diet and a rigorous work out regime.

unless you have a rare genetic mutation they are in fact, the result of starvation, dehydration and over working the body. even professional body builders don't look like that between shows. passing out on the stage at body building competitions is so common that youtube offers a variety of "fail" compilations for your viewing pleasure.

it's not admiring and promoting a healthy body type. Henry Cavil (The Witcher) described the very common practice of dehydrating himself over a 3 day period in prep for the shirtless scenes on that show. on day 3 you drink no water. being fat takes decades to kill you. what it takes to achieve that ripped look would kill you in just about a week, if you're lucky.

no one should be forced to do any scene they are uncomfortable with. whatever a role might require should be fully disclosed prior to a contract being signed.

i can't imagine any of these actors were unaware of what they were getting into. before any agencies or companies got involved they knew that if they wanted to hit it big there was a good chance they would be asked to take their shirt off at some point.

we also need to learn the difference b/w unsolicited objectification (cat calling someone just walking down the street for example) and solicited objectification. some entertainers know audiences find them attractive and lean into it. HARD. if a person makes being sexy part of their career we can't be surprised when people enjoy the sexy.

Run Yu is my favorite character from Ashes Of Love. I understand some people see him as the ''bad guy'' but in…
he was fighting for his rights...to marry a person even after he knew she didnt want him ... yea, as much as i initially liked the character, it's hard to get behind that.
christy Sep 11, 2020
i don't think Run yu loved Jin Mi or his father or his brother. there was a point at which, if he had really loved any of them he would have stopped. i am also pretty sure he didnt know he didnt love them. there are many feelings that can trick us into thinking they are love, most of them have to do with how other people make us feel, how others perceive us and what we think we deserve.

Hehe. My thoughts exactly.Anyway, I still prefer realistic portrayals of love even in dramas like something in…
as much as i love rom coms, they are fantasy and most of these dudes you would NEVER want to actually date in real life. i mean Lee Young Joon from Secretary Kim is legitimately insane (and i'm not talking about the traumatized chaebol trope they are selling) and would probably end up killing you if you ever tried to leave him for being a lying, obsessed narcissist .

Kim Tan from Heirs is a nightmare. the last time i tried to walk away from a dude when i was upset and he grabbed my wrist my dad threatened to kill him, b/c outside of drama land that kind of behavior has nothing to do with a loving you so much and wanting to help. it's about control.

if you watch any Chinese show the actors are all dubbed, sometimes they do their own dubbing, but it is usually voice actors. Chinese shows often don't even record sound on set at all.

some shows are better at it than others. The dubbing in the Untamed for example is almost flawless. the dubbing in my amazing boyfriend season 1
was ok.

the actor was changed in the 2nd season b/c at the time there was a ban on korean entertainment on Chinese Tv b/c of South Korean military exercises the Chinese government objected to.

The actor that played the role is season 2 is a Thai actor/singer Named Mike Angelo. Mike does speak mandarin (his mother is chinese) but he's still dubbed over when he stars in Chinese productions.
