hmm im not too keen on this idea i just feel like a lot will be changed in the story and well asian and american…
asian people remake american movies all the time. not too long ago i watched a chinese remake of what women want. there were moments during BOF/MG/HYD (and some other dramas too) that the cultural divide made it LESS entertaining. sometimes for me, though i love asian drama, the gender roles can get extremely tiresome as can the emense influence of "the elders."
1: one of the reasons the korean version is my favorite is that it had the best production value. in meteor garden and hana yori dango the sets/locations props and costumes really didn't ooze wealth the way BoYs Over Flowers did. if you meet your funding goal will you be able to create that kind of feel?
2: if this is sucessful, might we hope to see other dramas get an american redo?
this drama had so much potential. i've hung in there waiting and waiting for it to find it's footing and redeem…
when i found out that he was alive i was so excited, thinking to myself, "if he wakes up it will totaly be worth it!" yea, that lasted all of 45 minutes. this is the 1st drama since big that legit got me angry. when he died i was SOOOO mad!
this drama had so much potential. i've hung in there waiting and waiting for it to find it's footing and redeem itself, but after ep 15 i just have to admit, the ship has sunk and the final episode will be no more than the last bubbles sadly breaking the surface.
just you doesnt set out to be the greatest drama ever. it sets out to be a funny, entertaining watch from the taiwanese perspective and it does so quite well.
Harsh reality is there will definitely be some cost to all this. Bought for 200million and somehow still manages…
i agree most of us have no reason to know, but running ads is expensive, and the more people who will be able to see it the more expensive it is. Viki was already running ads.

they will make profit from selling more ads. for a very long time that is how EVERYONE in the televised entertainment business made money. back before the advent of cable all tv was free to the end consumer. if this move brings them even some j drama licenses they will recieve a huge boost in ad revenue potential. there are lot of fans out there just waiting for j dramas with better picture quality and faster more reliable subbing, which viki is sure to provide.
it should be good. from a story stand point there is no reason that this drama should suck as badly as it does.…
it has a problem finding the balance b/w the serious/light stuff. there are moments that are funny that are not supposed to be.it throws off the tone. Taec. struggles to match the tone of the actors and events around him. he and Shi On might as well be on two different shows.there is also a whole lot going on that really doesnt need to be. 85% of the 1st 4 epi was poorly concieved, convoluted and has had little impact on where the show is going exposition or character development. the story line with gunwoo's father for example, was a very bad choice, both from a director's and a writers view. the director should consider what his actors are capable of.Teac.was doing a servicable job with the lighter emotions.he was set up to fail. the same same result (plotwise)could have been achieved with simpler methods. you dont want clutter when you tell a story.
I know this will mean more commercials...they may even try to get everyone to pay for HD like DramaFever has done,…
on dramafever, even when you dont watch the HD, the picture quality for the totally free service is still leaps and bounds better than you get on alot of ad free streaming sites. i just rewatched autumn's concerto on dramafever. the 1st time i watched it i streamed it from dramacrazy. i dont pay for the hd but still, the difference in quality was amazing.
