Now we know why ML made the drastic moves. FL is basically living with SML lol, opening their house door, eating together, meeting every single day, working together, basically living together. At that time, these were all intimate, considering how protected unmarried women were.

Another good part of this drama's romance is what got the audience thinking: what if, i.e., the possibility of FL with the SML with an easier life. ML is a good, rich man who loves her, but she can have a whole different, good life with SML. Both options are good for her. It's just a possibility FL has as a woman at that time, but she was robbed of the right to choose after fighting for it her whole life. The flaw of the leads is what makes this a good drama.

This has the direction of a couple with different visions, far from a typical straight-up enemy-to-lovers, lovers-to-lovers romance, but more logical. ML was born with a golden spoon, faced difficulties but never fell into misery like FL. Whilst FL, born a woman, saw how the family members died and worked hard to 'live' & never want to fall into the politics or even the circle of rich people.

Seemingly, the FL will fall for him after the marriage, after he traps her. The ML won't understand that when he wished for the marriage via royal decree, but only after he worked hard for her later; why she wants freedom (even ML might still be greedy for her love & wont let her go). For sure, FL will be disappointed when she has to marry him. This will be the highlight of their romance—nothing perfect & for sure many flaws of the leads will be shown. But FL's personality was meant for something greater and attracted someone great like ML. So im down for the angst

Same and its a surprised for me for a first time to wait next eps for a slow tone, w/o much "dramatised plots" kind of drama. Maybe this has these comforting vibes that kinda ease my days.

The cutest is when ML is grovelling alone, w/o much interaction with her but what catches him the most is her wit. Later, when she got freedom, being far from her will kill him even more.

Read a Chinese comment that, despite him being a master, he treated the maids as normal people. He can coerce her by not giving her freedom & do whatever he wants since she's his property & he likes her, but still gave her what she deserved. The turning point is when he married her by royal decree coz he knows that she won't agree to the marriage. This is when I felt like we could see the layers of the FL coz people pointed out she's too one-dimensional.

I dont think she knew, ive read somewhere the ML knews years after marriage to show how sincerely he loves the FL. I think along the way she will do lot more for the family & knowing how good is the family esp the mother she gonna accept her anyway.

Now makes sense why they let the maid marry to the family. Girl is basically protector of the household when the ML is not there

I cried like crazy in ep 18. 1 ep doesn't have many scenes due to the pace, but I felt content and need more. It makes sense it has 40-plus eps. Im sure there are more heartbreaks in the future

How's the drama's performance so far? I know this kind of drama didn't have the trending vibes since it's not shown on Netflix (for int. hype) & didnt have the "trending" actors. But I really hope this received well-deserved love.

How can a simple plot make me on edge omgg. Even the directing has this low-key calm effect; the slow, calm effect does make me nervous about what happens next. And rarely im on the edge solely for the plott

Ugh, love the third sister, she has main character vibes, literally a Ming Lan. Girl needs to meet a good man & girl is cuteee. And I love how Harmony is the family despite her being a concubine's child. For sure the family has good upbringing.

And the ML is literally head over heels, and it's funny while the FL just tries to survive by working diligently.

Something heartbreaking when I saw a video of their expressions side by side in ep 7. The ML said he kept her family safe, yet the FL's face showed a sense of hurt and betrayal.

The FL portrayal left viewers thinking a lot, rather than having her speak her mind. Can you imagine: you are once noble; now you have to work with the same noble who abandoned her and her family(even x his fault). Now she met him, but as a slave/maid. It's amazing how much the FL put her past aside, and her pride & being a good maid, just to gain favour for her parents' freedom. She's smart and good person, want nothing else from the people around her.

Now, I finally really understand how the theme is centered on the FL who just wants to live, something her late mother left her on a piece of paper.

Yes, Jin Qi should really be grateful to her cause she's literallt his saviour & his family. Literally protects his family when he's not around. She's 'No one', but silently helped him without wanting anything in return; she just wants herself and her parents to live. The ML couldn't help but fall in love because the girl is too smart, yet she is not an opportunist.

Even for a man like him who knows people too well, i.e., reads people, he felt there was more to her than just an ordinary woman. FL fits him so much cause ML, tbh, couldn't settle for a straightforward, simple woman lol. He needs a smart wife.

This drama theme centred around an FL who carries on with her life just to 'live'. It's a more logical, makes-sense kind of drama where the actions just make sense for someone who has suffered like her, as compared to typical drama where the character is just out for revenge & tbh absolutely makes no sense.

The love story is intriguing because we just can't see how it will end, tbh; FL lost her family & had to leave as a slave, now a maid. ML is someone prominent. FL is just not delusional cause she just wanted to live. Their dynamic love story is really good. It's more about how the ML makes her open up. So the dynamic is interesting.

The subplots are engaging and well done. Not overly complicated politics. even the side characters are good. It's worth it.

The weak points? Tbh, I couldn't find any, unless you mean this drama has a slower pace and is less dramatic, but that's normal tbh. Nowadays, people are overstimulated; even a normal pace is considered slow. This drama resembles the story of Ming Lan.

Love how calm the potrayal of the FL huhu. Tbh, its just logical for her to be ‘like that’ instead overly brave cause we would like her tbh. She kept her boundaries & now only involve just for her parents. Girl know her priority.

The FL is potrayed as closed off, hard to express type of person (even from intro as maid) due to her traumatising past. So, for FL she just want to survive and live for the sake of her parents, so yeah even she likes ML, logically she knows what matters the most ie to survive.

I think that the point of their relationship plot, for the ML to help her "open up". Unlike many drama with fl suffering & taking revenge, the FL clearly suffered & become totally closed off & just wish to live. One of the logical potrayal for someone suffer like her.
