This is random but as a non-Chinese, I always noticed that CDramas (ashes of love, starry love etc) depict demons, non-heavenly gods/goddesses, and villains with features like those of natives of Xinjiang, central asia like Diliraba,Guli Nazha rather than Han Chinese. More reading, there are actually subtle stereotypes, racialised portrayals in the industry and community due to history. Some the actress had subtly talked about this but it beame better. And yeah, this issue cant be discussed openly in china.

The husband, 2nd lady and MIL are all damn evil they deserved more suffering but the FL is actually has a kind heart. She can go worse with son and destroy him (slept with him, destroy his feelings) but didnt do it since she's a nice person. Actually, she did NOTHING hurtful to other, they deserve more.
This is the OG of Wuxia that started the cdrama wave together with eternal love. Watching back, realised how handsome Deng Lun is. He has the manly vibes but gave this soft longing looks & noticed how older actor are not as thin as today.
Why other Wuxia drama couldn't surpass, cause this one adopts every element to the best; the morally bad character, the sorrowful ML, hate love relationship, amnesia, good ver evil, the costume, the climax of the angst, the ost & for me the best one for angst: how they make us wonder the FL real feelings vs highly obsessed ML. It's a great formula of classic melodrama like Autumn Concerto, Nice Guy, Love to Hate You, etc.
People questioned the FL, but in the end, the ML realised why she did all that and how she's a goddess bearing the burden to save the world & how EVIL the demon is. If we understand her personality and her position as a goddess, then we can understand how much she loves him. How she always sees a bigger picture of everything. She's the opposite of him, has a lot of thoughts, prefers to keep her feelings, while he is an emotionally driven character, a life full of hatred, but she was the only source of his life. Complete opposite.
