So here's some intriguing interpretations from the Dream arc you guys. The aesthetics paired with these small interpretations made the drama watching experience more beautiful for me so I wanted to share this with you guys ✨ :

Sang Jiu's apple 🍎 : Giving/throwing an apple to someone, in ancient Greece, was a sign of declaring love. Sometimes, it could also be a ploy of seduction. So when Ming Ye caught the apple that fell on him, it then represented him welcoming Sang Jiu's love. Its interesting cause this apple was also the reason they got closer to each other. It's honestly so sad the tree got cut down by Tian Huan... 😭

Ming Ye kneeling 🧎: In psychology, kneeling is a sign of submissiveness and sadness or extreme vulnerability. Him doing this after Sang Jiu asked "Did you ever even love me? "meant that he surrendered and confessed defeat because he did fell in love with her. As he couldn't tell her or show her, he knelt to display his sorrow. Therefore, his next replies to Sang Jiu like the "Never." onwards are all untrue. πŸ’”

Thanks for sharing. It’s really helpful for some of us who have yet read the novel. It fills the gap for some…
I'm really glad my point were delivered even though I'm not that good at english ❀ thank you so much !

I very much like how they made the enemies to lovers trope more light-hearted here than in the book.

TTJ in the novel detested new feelings and avoids it like a virus, mostly because of the evil bone and the abuses he received. He even constantly thinks about how to k*ll YXW everytime she gets near him. But the sad truth of this was, he just didn't know how to properly respond to the 'itch' (as he called it) or the new variety of feelings forming in him whenever he was with her.

YXW was the only and 'first' one who 'understood' him, and not just pitied him unlike his two nannies who betrayed him. Thus, he slowly formed real feelings for her. That moment where they were drawing talismans (Ep 6) were a perfect example of his internal dilemma about those feelings, and it was also the first time he wasn't irritated by the 'itch' from her. Here's the small excerpt from the Novel of this scene:

The warm light dispersed and the talisman turned into a beautiful painting of snow on the mountain top, white plumes, waterfalls and falling leaves, daylight and winding vines ...

Rabbits gathered around him shyly and poked their heads out curiously. Then, the water from the stream flowed over his hands, washing away the smell of blood.

He was stunned. Beyond the vision, Ye Xi Wu looked at him with a warm smile and bright eyes.

A dot of cinnabar was rubbed on the arch of her brows. His dark pupils stared at her, and his fingers curled tight.

Ye Xi Wu asked, "Is it pretty?"

Tantai Jin did not say anything. He only frowned and coldly looked at her.

Tan Tai Jin in this adaptaion, actually cherishing the talismans and responding with a smile to Ye Xi Wu was a really big upgrade. ❀

Tan Tai Jin is the embodiment of a true villain protagonist in the novel. That's why I'm really glad they made all the reasons for his evilness more obvious & understandable in here unlike in the novel. I honestly only felt half sympathetic towards his novel character until I watched this drama.

He would feel extreme happiness from the smell of blood, and enjoys the fear / flustered faces of people. During the "crow incident in Ep5", in the novel, Ye Xi Wu really almost died after TTJ suddenly ordered a wasp to 'kill her', just because of him reasoning he was irritated by her and that she was 'not useful' to him anymore. Even all demons were afraid of him, not just 'cause of his blood, and so whatever he orders them to do- they'll follow.

He would not even tolerate all those bullying and abuse in the novel. Unlike the usual heroes who forgives and move on, TTJ only thinks about the injustices be repaid with blood / death. He has been accumulating anger since childhood and has long been planning to kill everyone who abused him. Therefore, when he was given a chance to finally not feel powerless, it was reasonable he grabbed that opportunity and felt satisfied (That is, absorbing demon power).

I don't really see that they toned down on his evilness in the drama, and I like that tbh. LYX perfectly portrayed a ruthless villain that I almost did not notice the changes. I very much agree that LYX nailed this role. I'm definitely eating this drama till the end.

This drama will make us viewers a total wrecking mess. So far, the scenes on the trailers is so in synch with the novel's angst, that I bet even the small changes they made would hurt us even more. April will be a painful but fantastic roller coaster of emotions!

WOW Lyx Original Lines is getting stronger....So much angst......
I'll be manifesting with you! I honestly thought they'd release one of the OSTs instead... but oh well, we still got to see more of the duo, so it's not exactly a loss for us. πŸ’§

No sign of Curved Jade or Heavy Feather yet (except for the necklace Susu wears) so they'll probably reserve those…
Curved Jade played a really significant role in keeping Xi Wu's sanity throughout the novel especially during the Longevity Flower arc. Li Su Su even got depressed when he was gone! I'd be so disappointed if Ye Xi Wu would experience all those pain alone with no one to talk to!

I just watched the BTS of LYX doing all the physical fights etc...I have so much respect for this guy, really.…
He acts so natural during those scenes, you'd even start to wonder if he's really an immortal! Luo Yun Xi always amazes us with his talent, his dedication to giving great performances is noticeable in all of his shows. He really makes it impossible for me/us to not support him! πŸ‘

Him and Bai Lu is definitely an explosive pairing. Can't wait for more of our Queen Bai Lu's BTS fight/bloody scenes too!

One major change I noticed is they did the Soul Slaying Nails scene in one of their weddings instead. This is…
We'll certainly have swollen eyes in the course of watching this drama. After that wedding, we'd still get another heartbreaking scene. "The broken Fuci Bracelet" .... 😭
