I so agree! It was very entertaining to see how well they know each other despite spending their growing years apart.

I haven’t watched Kdrama for a while, picked this one out of the blue and it reminded me why I love watching them! Love love love Kim Se Jeong, such a natural talent and sooooo pretty! The plot and pace of the story is just right, the chemistry between the main and secondary leads is hot and the the light comedy ties it all together nicely . … every episode makes me feel warm and happy.

You are very welcome! One thing that added depth to the story is the fact that a new born baby got the decree…a baby!…what sin could a helpless baby a few days old have committed to warrant a destination to hell? You could imagine how this would finish the New Truth cult. While all this is fiction there are actual real life answers to man’s quest in avoiding eternal damnation in hell - Jesus! But if you haven’t noticed it yet people shy away from the topic of faith. Some avoid it like it’s the plague, oh well…

Have a great day :)

People’s exact day and time of death are made known to them by so called angels although they look nothing like angels at all. Some angels show up literally minutes before death happens, some show up 20 years ahead of their schedule. Such is the case of our ML, no explanations were given why that is. What I find funny is that everyone seemed to be heading to hell. The main lead understandably is scared and tried to make sense of his decree. He thought of different reasons and alas he decided that being a sinner must be the only explanation plausible. His survival instincts kicked in, he wants to live! So he thought that being sinless will reverse his fate. He worked tirelessly to find how to be sinless and in the process he gained a great following including the famous crazy cult group Arrowheads . These nut jobs ended up being the secret hand in doing the dirty work, all under the guise of trying to achieve the state of “sinlessness. “ He is smart and charismatic, hallmarks of a manipulative person. He knows how to play with people’s emotions. And the people, gosh, the people themselves make it effortless for him to do his “thing”. There were a select few who didn’t buy in his theory, this makes up the conflict of our story and from which the flow continued. There my dear is the anchor plot of this thought-provoking dystopian drama.

I quite enjoyed the major twists in the last 3 episodes although it did feel somewhat disjointed because there were suddenly new main characters . One particular gaping hole was the non-closure of the previous main characters. I wished they gave the viewers something to go by but then I suppose his story isn’t quite finished yet. The 3 big hulks are the supernatural beings who are sent to “violently” fetch people on the day of their death. They do look kind of funny and cartoonish almost. I’m no CGI expert by any means but even I could tell the graphics could be better. However that part does not take away from the story per se.

I hope the above shed some light for you. Stay safe!

Is this drama promoting atheism?
No. It shows religion, manipulation and vulnerability. Put those three together and you can get the gist of the plot, however, that is only the surface. The story goes much much deeper than that.

The arrowhead nut job is annoying, I'd set up my own cult to take him down 😜
The Arrowheads had a huge role to play in the story and they fit the bill perfectly but I have to admit that the online head honcho nearly caused me to drop this series… I really have no patience with the weird screaming and seemingly nonsense antics. It was noise that actually hurt my ears 😩 but it all made sense in the end. Yes, they were very annoying but someone had to be it.

I thought this was a very interesting series. The first episode was the slowest and hardest to watch but it does build up, slowly. Your patience is worth it, I promise. Not your usual straight up regular dramas, so many metaphors and parallels to real life. It requires you to think substantially…. so skip this one if you are looking for a light and entertaining fare to watch. My husband and I binge watched this together and we like it :)

I have not come across such a clear way of explaining things, you are quite eloquent in a simple way (I hope that made sense). I am in total agreement with all you said. I watch a drama primarily for entertainment purposes, however I also appreciate the occasional eye openers (or eye candy delight, lol) they may bring to my train of thoughts which I may (or may not) glean applicable life lessons from. If truth be told I watch a drama when I am in my silly “fluffy” mood or when I just want to laugh and temporarily forget the busyness of the work day or week.

I liked the plot enough to finish all 20 episodes but it has lots of flaws and a few loose ends. The twist in the last episode was unexpected and just came out of the blue, it kind of neatly tied some things together but in a rushed kind of way. The one thing no one can deny is the great acting of the cast, the crying all came out naturally (and there’s lots of crying in here), nothing fake. I fell in love with the mom, she was so pretty and so kind, her motherly love was so genuine even if it was all just acting. An 8.5 for me :)

And that’s a wrap to a beautiful series….I thought the ending was just a tad on the cheesy side only because of the coach’s interview speech but definitely an easy 10/10 rating for me. Thanks for the fun ride boys!

I thought it would but watching Olympic badminton was nowhere near as exciting as was in the TV show.
Watching badminton matches never cease to amaze me, it’s embarrassing how often I had to close my mouth because they are just that, jaw-dropping good! I agree that if you came to watch this show for the game and technicalities per se that you will be disappointed. A keen player could tell that Woo Chan, Bang, Hae Kang, In Sol and Han Sol are badminton players in real life while Yong Tae and Se Yoon are not. The opposing teams may all be real badminton players just by looking at their forms when they play on the court. However we should remember that Badminton here is used only as a means to tell the players’ stories along with the rest of the rag-tag community gang :)

This has really given me a greater appreciation for the game of badminton. I actually watched an Olympic badminton…
It made me go find a Leisure Center outside my town where badminton is currently offered (our local group had to shut down because of COVID). I ended up with new friends and sweat-drenched tops, good times! Oh and the series might have pushed me to invest in real badminton shoes, lol!

I now know how disappointment and relief at the same time feels…was so looking forward to binge watch the last 2 episodes after having no access to Netflix these past 2 weeks so imagine my dismay but funny how glad I felt knowing that there is one last episode still….yes!

I think the general theme of this series is ordinary people with extraordinary hearts. This will be one of my all time fave 10/10, everything is just right (not perfect), just right… my heart is warm :)

Healer and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim are top two of Park Min Young’s work that I absolutely enjoyed. Her acting there was a breath of fresh air, the chemistry between her male leads were so funny and in total sync with the flow of the story. This one not so much to my disappointment. The plot is interesting but is kind of weak. The ML is just a bit flat for me. The angle of the second lead is not making an impact on the story and even her female friendship is a tad too shallow for me. Even the brilliant Kim Mi Kyung couldn’t save this series for me. Dropped at episode 6.

In a way I’m glad they are airing only 1 episode/week because I know I’ll be really sad when the teams say their goodbyes after the finals and the town folks have cheered their last hurrah…definitely one of the best feel-good-vibes-after-watching-each-episode in a long time …”it’s me, the one and only Yoon Hae Kang” is now a classic in my head :D
