Hahaha, I just don’t want to crowd Darkzone’s comment here especially since it isn’t about Hospital Playlist. Hello Darkzone :)
I find the father and mother’s plot a bit overplayed, their acting is top notch but just a little over dramatic at times, Jung Hee’s character is hard to like and his plot is the slowest one to progress so I’m not totally sold with his romance... yet. I can’t take Ra Young seriously and oldest brother and sister-in-law is forgettable, save the bullying part. I thought that was well knitted into the story. The actress who plays the always present evil mother in law whom we all love (not) is doing a great job thus far, I hate her to bits it’s actually funny :D. As for the second floor folks only grandma stands out for me.

Hi there! I just finished the halfway point of the drama and I thought I’d drop you a note. We probably should move our convo somewhere more appropriate because this drama is so jam packed with so many good things! I am so in love with Hye Young and Jeong Hwan’s love story! My eyes hurt from binging but I can’t help it :)
E18 and I don’t know why I waited so long to watch it! Thus far big sister’s romance is what keeps this story the most interesting for me! She cracks me up so walnut is quite apt nickname for her. The side stories are interesting enough but most are so so. I find when I start to really hate an antagonist that usually means they are doing such a great job at portraying their characters, Jeong Hwan”s mom is the winner in this category for now..

Hi! Not yet. I’ve discovered Doulou Continent and I’ve been hooked. I just got caught up with the anime series which is another first for me and if that’s not enough I have started reading the novel. Father is next on my list. Will come back here and comment once I finish.
This one was very funny at the beginning and looked to be promising but I’m afraid to say that funny fell right off the wagon at episode 17. I forced myself to watch the last 3 episodes just to get closure and you know still hopeful that maybe....just maybe...but sadly NO. I have the sole rights on my own opinion only, not on yours but feel free to comment, peace and love.
They filmed in Hengdian as that's where most if not all of their costume dramas are filmed.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. This is my second Chinese fantasy and while I am enjoying the show so much I realize there is a lot to learn. I looked up Hengdian and oh my it does look like “chinawood “, I am amazed!
I am at E9 and seriously thinking of dropping this. The only reason I keep watching is to see how the rich son matures and stay strong in his resolve to do the right thing this time around. His story fascinates me the most, I couldn’t care less for the other characters.
To be fair consider SJ have grown his feeling for her a long time, those feelings would come out one way or another.…
I get what you’re saying, it feels almost sheer torture watching SJ’s face as he tries to make light the agony he feels deep inside but JG is clueless (or pretends to be)....sigh, will be glad when all this ends tomorrow
I finally decided to see the last episode and I’m glad I followed your advice. I ended up backtracking to e15 and e14 after just to get the idea how they got to e16 with a lot of fast forward in between.
While the plot was not bad and the twists were unexpectedly engaging I still find this drama lacks depth. Character development could have been improved but I suppose one can only fit so much in 8 episodes. The acting chops matched the pretty faces so you won’t be disappointed in that regard. The sweet making was a cultural eye opener for me, I learned a few things. I wished I watched this before we visited Japan but I’ll definitely pay more attention to their deserts from here on.
Overall I would say watch if you like the suspense/mystery genre but don’t if you are looking for romance.
Finale was a bit drawn out but happy that they provided closure to secondary characters. My husband and I binged watch it on one weekend and that’s saying a lot as my hubby don’t usually watch kdramas. We enjoyed this one from start to finish...a little too dramatic at times but liked it anyway.
What a great ending, a little drawn out but not overly dramatic. I love how they made sure they provided closure to all the lovable characters. I so love Mun and his HS friends!

Hope you don’t mind me joining in your conversation. I am one of those who find this drama a so-so. I hardly give a 10 and this drama while watchable is far from 10. Reply 1988 is an all time fave for me, not perfect by any means but truly heartwarming. Prison playbook is unique and I think will be a classic in years to come.
I am slowly venturing into the Cdrama fantasy world but the long series scares me....I just don’t have the discipline to stop when it’s time to stop. I would really like to watch SK family series ...My Father is Strange is on my PTW list..:have you watched it?
