I feel like we're missing the sudden awareness that SM realizes that he loves her. We get all these small flashbacks and how he wants to call her but I feel like he went from a cold-hearted CEO to an immature, stalkerish ex. Maybe it's because he hasn't apologized yet and that will probably come later. But he's getting all these weird advice from everyone but he never tells any of them that he made a big mistake. There's just something missing with his awareness and self-reflection that he does love her.

Honestly, EP20 with their recon disguises threw me off. It was a bit over the top and out of place considering this was the first time they did a comedic bit. But as a former Twihard, I really didn't see the "Twilght" connection. I thought Xu Yan was going to come in wearing a burgundy vest or cardigan and SM wearing a gray jacket. 🤣

It's pretty sad that she knew all her lies caught up to her but she did stay true to herself that she did it because she did really love him and lied about her background so she could marry him. Was it right that she lied? No, but she did at least love him so much that even when she was being blackmailed, she still told him not to invest in the fake company. In the end, she did truly love him and not his wealth or family ties and she makes that point by leaving it all behind because she realized he didn't love her back. SM married her because he saw her as someone ambitious and sly enough to get what she wanted and that would benefit both of them. So in his eyes, he never harbored any feelings for her at all. At least that's what he told her how he felt. He saw her as a scammer who just wanted his wealth and he took advantage of it. He didn't believe that she truly loved him. So she suffered a real heartbreak but I loved the fact that she walked away from it all. For her it was love or nothing. At least she wanted to make amends and start over but he didn't want any "real" emotional involvement. Her taking off layers of makeup, fake eyelashes and all, baring her real face carried so much meaning.

His parents knew and took the child from them to raise him as their own. They didn't want their son having a scandal.

I think him buying her gifts is twofold; he feels guilty about his own secrets and he's buying her silence.

I know, I think it's so stupid too. He already knows her secret and knew right then that she wanted to confess but he didn't want her to. I think it's so that he doesn't feel as burdened with his secret love child. He probably feels that both of their lies evens themselves out. If she comes clean, now he's the only one with a secret and he doesn't want to tell her.

Honestly though, most parents never notice how much favoritism they shower on the favorite child. They literally have no idea. Even if they're called out on it, they might fix their behavior but then fall right back into their old habits. Some parents don't even care that they openly favor that one child over the other. Terrible.

I agree with you about the CGI effects. I'm a big super hero fan of Marvel and the like but the CGI was just so superficial and repetitive. I thought his shirtless scenes would reel me in but I just got bored of it because obviously there was a touch of CGI in there as well. I kept wanting him to just put on a shirt already! Lol! I also didn't like the fact that he had no free will to be loyal to her. It was a blood connection. Thanks for your review. I dropped this at 6 episodes so I wasn't sure if I should pick it back up. Still on the fence whether to watch it later.

I found it kind of annoying when the mother comes home and calls for the cat, "Cherry, we're home!". I mean the cat is deaf. Then when her daughter tuns her back, she calls out her name, "Hyo Ju", and she turns around. The daughter is deaf too. The appropriate action would've been for the mother to tap her on her shoulder to get her attention. The sign language was okay but unconvincing. Considering it wasn't too many lines, the flow could've been better coming from the "deaf" daughter to be more convincing.

I totally agree. The sister was even like saying to her dad, "You're the one who chased her away." Then the father was saying that's because the older sister wanted to go to college and then the sister has the audacity to act like she wasn't part of the problem.

By EP6, I think the ML knows about her "fake parents". His actions are too "coincidental". He always seems to save her at the right time. He's already obvious that he has some kind of surveillance on her. That's just my theory though.

She had a congenital heart defect which was too expensive for her parents to take care of and the father had wanted a boy (this is brought up later). The grandmother ended up taking her in as a baby. Her parents names' was Qiao and when she was like a teenager, she changes her last name to "Xu", officially taking her grandmother's last name, registering only herself and her grandmother in the family register. Everything she does is to really be able to take care of her grandmother. When she gets a bit older, her parents take her back later because the grandmother insist they take responsibility for her schooling, but the parents obviously favor the older daughter, her biological sister. That's how the drama so far plays it out. It goes back and forth to the past as flashbacks.

I just finished watching Ep 3 and I gotta say, what was up with that black and gray tennis outfit? That was so out of character for a stylist to dress her like that.🤣
