The drama is actually following the novel correctly at this point.
In the novel, since marrying SYK, she aged especially she is not full Si Teng. Si Teng lucked out because her blood was sucked dry by BY and "died" or she would have likely aged too. The splitting of BY from Si Teng was what Si Teng called a disease that can happen to their kind, but not often.
Just watched up to ep 26. I have questions:- how come QF ancestor can suddeny become a man from a tree?- if he…
1. When Qiu San turned Si Teng from vine to tree, she was attached (clinging) to the ancestor of QF. If Qiu Shan had stayed there longer he might have realized this. Did you see how big that seed/rock with strange markings Qiu Shan used when creating Si Teng? 2. Because Si Teng was taught by Qiu Shan (watch the flashbacks when she is a little girl when he scolds her when she was learning to cultivate her powers) 3. This one is a bit difficult, since the episode didn't really explain it well. But I'm guessing that BY returns to where Si Teng originated from (where Qiu Shan found her) to figure a way to resurrect her and sees QF's ancestor in human form. She can recognize another of her kind and in her mental state came to that conclusion.
Turns out QF is not a descendant of of Bai Ying! But the descendant of the tree that Si Teng was attached to before…
Right now QF is in a coma cuz BY had him fall from a very high place--his bones are all broken, his organs severly damaged. Very emotional scene when you see it.
ST tries to give him some of her energy but it is rejected, so she touched heads w/ him and went into his consciousness and saw the tree. Touching the tree she then realizes how he is connected to her.
Looks like drama gave some further backstory for Qiu Shan: his younger self (DZG) had fallen in love with one of Si Teng's kind and his master ended up being killed by it (dunno if that's really the cause cuz he woke up one day and came out to find his master like that)
On the plane, they were arguing over ST merging her soul with BaiYing. QF is against the idea of ST wanting to…
Si Teng needs to merge with BY because SYD's power that she absorbed is too strong for her current body (she is not her full self, more like 1/2 demon due to the split) and it's making her constantly weak.
ya in the book she's a vine demon. but due to censorship they became mutated plants with alien genes.
After Si Teng was able to return Bai Ying into her body, she left him (I believe she returned to original form as a vine and must restart her "learning" in order to have human form again. For years after that he went looking for. Turns out Si Teng became a little girl, deemed an orphan, and was taken in. The woman who took her in ends up also being someone like her, but whereas Si Teng is a vine, that woman is Bamboo. The bamboo didn't know Si Teng is also a demon. QF meets Si Tengthe little girl form (now he is much older than her), some incidents happen and he figures out she is Si Teng. She returns to her adult human form thanks to taking the essence from the Bamboo mom (Bamboo mom is kinda crazy, she had reared a human girl before Si Teng and attempted to kill the teenage girl later because she was ruined by having indecent pictures taken; QF had managed to save this girl, nearly losing a finger). When QF met Si Teng as a little girl, Bamboo mom was raising her and naming her after the girl who she tried to kill. This teenage girl fell in love with QF but knows he doesn't have a place in his heart for her.
Si Teng when returning to her adult form, allowed the little girl form of herself to remain and had QF finally a good family to take her in. I'm guessing Si Teng wanted the young Si Teng to have a better childhood than she had. Years later, when this young Si Teng is now a teenager she was curious as to where she came from. Before Si Teng and QF left her with the family, QF instructed the family if the little girl ever wondered about her to give him a call. In those years before the girl became a teenager, QF hasn't aged. The teenage Si Teng meets QF and Si Teng again. She is confused, possibly not able to take in what they tell her even if she was the one who asked. Si Teng as a gift make her forget about them and returns her to the family.
At the end of the novel QF and Si Teng are together and Si Teng even jokes that if he ever leaves her (like she had him in those years he went searching for), she will find him and cut his legs so he can never leave her.
