Another member here explained. The book tells the story but it was censored because it involved time travel. She ce from the future and had good medical and business skills. The time travel part was cut apparently because there have been some issues with kids doing some crazy stuff trying to time travel like in the movies.

Yep. Someone probably said "time to wrap things up!" and they closed the plot. And since this drama was likely filmed during the 40-episodes-limit rule, they probably did not have much to add.
I just finished this series and it's really good and exceeded my expectations. The whole production, directors, actors, screenwriter, music writer, and so on, did a phenomenal job.
As for the PLA's comments, I can understand it, since many characters even defy laws of physics during battle and fight sequences. However, it is what it is. The movie industry everywhere caters to the audience and gives what the audience wants. It's a fight for numbers.
I can see by reading many comments here on MDL how excellent dramas get poor ratings "because there are no kisses" (really??). So, some of the stuff indeed go against military codes, but let's not forget that the whole thing is a work of fiction. Reality was thrown out of the window.
I lock my "reality and reasoning" every time I stop to watch those series and do not expect to see them in the stories. That's not why I watch dramas. I watch them for entertainment. If I want reality I watch a documentary and, nowadays, I even have to suspend my disbelief when watching them.
Hows the war/action scenes in here? just finish lotfg and i need more battle and power couple
If you liked Legend of the Female General, you will also enjoy Fated Hearts and Pursuit of Jade. I liked LOFG but enjoyed the other two more. The power-couple factor is well present in both also and I liked the FLs in the other two more also. As a reference, LOFG was a 8.5 for me, whereas the other two were 9/9.5.

Which is lotfg? I'm finishing Pursuit of Jade and that one has more big battles. This one has more smaller fights but they are very well done. The FL carries her role as a general better than other FLs playing a general.
Tencent did a half-ass job on its YouTube channel and had several episodes without any sound. Then, they simply removed those soundless episodes. And later, to make things a lot worse, they simply wiped out all but the first three episodes of this series. Non-existent professionalism and work ethics there.

The end was a bit chaotic, mostly with all the royal family in the FL's country dying and the ML casually saying that "let's go home", knowing that a civil war would ensue, which contradicted his "moral stances". The FL also did not seem to care much about it, after all the speeches about "people suffering". I guess the storyteller did not have much time for a graceful fix for that mess and just skipped to "they found some heir somewhere to take over". Besides that (big) plot hole, the story was great.
Awesome series. Masterful combination of a great script, direction, acting, meticulous production topped by a pleasant soundtrack. The actors held up the story and made this series a very entertaining watch that was difficult to let go. The only comment was at the end and I put it in the spoiler below.
I'm on episode 31 right now and can easily see why this series got so many praises and recognition. It's one of those where talent meets creativity, hard work and the right resourses, and becomes a masterpiece. Such a pleasure to watch it that it's hard to stop. I need to control myself better in the future and really do not start a series before it ends. It's been very hard to not bingewatch it and run out of episodes.
Nice article, thanks! It's always great to know about the real History that inspires awesome series like this one, even though some of the events are clearly very loosely adapted (e.g. the battle between the FL and that big general). ;-) Nevertheless, I am enjoying this series a lot and hope there will be more like it on the way.
Could not keep going on this trainwreck and dropped it. The story is promising, but the screenwriter did a very poor job, let alone the mediocre acting that seemed to only rely on the ML getting semi-naked in order to attract a certain audience. So, all in all, this series was a big waste of budget and resources. 4/10 is being very generous.
This series is really excellent. It's not easy to get some good ones like this. I broke my own rule of only watching complete seasons because I like to binge watch. Now I have to ration how many episodes I watch per day so I can get at least three.
Season 2 is definitely not as good as season 1. The story was very toned down, some actors replacements were not up to par with the originals, and so on. So, it's not bad, but not so good, and definitely not so good as Pursuit of Jade.
Are you watching on youtube? It’s not censored on other sites
Yep, Youtube. And it's a really silly thing, since they blur knives and knife wounds but give full pass to swords and sword wounds. Big discrimination against knives. 🤣🤣
This is indeed a great series. I started watching and it's hard to stop, but I have to control the number of episodes I watch per day, so it does not run out before Netflix streams the last one.
