Awesome series! A mix of roller coaster with plot twists. When things were starting to slow down something new would come up and twist the whole plot. The story and acting were great, as well as the general production. Cho Yeo Jung was perfect as a psycho writer. I became her fan on this series.

It is a nice series. Overall story, cinematography, production, acting are very nice. I felt that some of the music was reused from Princess Agents, but may be mistaken. Watched too many series. However, the production used and abused the fillers and flashbacks. No wonder Xi Jinping told the Chinese movie industry to slow down on that. 😛

Indeed. It seems Toranaga coming up with the plan to use the British ship's guns and cannons was mostly a diversion for his actual plan, which was ruthless.
It will be interesting to see how a season 2 plays off if there's one. It was a good season 1, so I hope there's a second one.

It's possible. If I remember right, the pilot was a main character in the previous one. But, yes, in this one he did not seem very important.

Are they going to release all stories in sequence? Meaning one immediately after the other?

One of the things that made me laugh was the pilot (an English) pointing fingers at the Portuguese and Spaniards (at the time the two world super powers). The British Crown got its riches by pirating the other countries' colonies, formally commissioning criminals to ravage their ships and cities, leeching on their labor. Of course, Portugal and Spain were no saints and also did their damage to their colonies' natives. However, later on, the Brits and the French did not leave them behind. And when the US came to be, it also did its share.

Good series. It has been a very long time since I watched the original one, but I remember it impressed me more than this one. Again, maybe becauae I watched it first.
This one was a very good production, with great wardrobe, sets, sountrack and direction. However, Hiroyuiki Sanada and Ann Sawai's acting left Cosmo Jarvis' eating dust and that unbalanced the overall series a bit.
However, a great series to watch nonethless.

Between the bad acting and bad story, this series became very painful to watch. I ended-up skipping most of the episodes just to see how things would end. Curiosity almost killed this cat, since things only got worse.

Nice series. Despite the serial murders, it's easy to watch. The part that really bothered me were the constant fillers with long flashbacks. I ended up fast forwarding some of them. Acting was all over the place with some good and some really bad. Same for the soundrack. All in all, still worth the watch for the storyline.

She married one of her business partners. However, as far as I remember, the whole story barely touches romance. It's more about her business dealings and challenges as a newcomer in the industry and also as a woman. It's a great story and the acting also very good.

I also did not understand the end. What really happened when the whole story rewinded and it seems that the FL was the one waking the ML at the beach? It lost me there.

Great concept but the story made it fall short. Waste of Sandra Ma's talent. The acting was all over the place and the script had some glaring errors, such as FL having blood type AB and needing only AB type to save her life. A research would had shown AB blood being able to receive from all donor types. Several other details like this aling the series.

Found it on SENTV but only has 44 episodes, not 45.

Nice short stories despite the propaganda hints behind them. However, the humor, acting, production and the stories themselves made well worth watching this movie.

I agree. Not just him, but his sidekick also getting out scott-free was a bad move by the writer. Both should be in jail.

It could have been a lot better. Unfortunately and acting and part of the story went to waste.

Thanks All for clarifying. I read that info in an article a while ago before the series was released. Since it would not be the first time an actor was censored, I believed it, also because the last episode seemed like an add-up.
I personally did not feel anyone had been removed, unless the post producers did an outstanding job with the editing. Therefore, the novel's extra chapter explanation makes sense now.
Still, I'd rather they had some more development on what happened with the main couple instead of spending one entire episode with Miss Jin (who I also enjoyed, but she had already her role in the story), mostly because they still had one entire episode to show it (isn't the limit 40 episodes?).
Nonetheless, still a 10 for me.

The last episode was a bit strange but it appears that the series had to be heavily edited because of an actor who had to be removed. Even with that, still a great series.

Another home-run with the FL and ML. Everything just right. There's a small cliffhanger for a season 2 but that seems unlikely. Awesome job by everyone from producers, actors, director, music, kudos to everyone.
