Can someone from the future please reply and let me know when this actually shows up on Viki?
I still have in my Viki's "coming soon" list but when I click on it, it's like a black hole. Simply nothing. Vaporized, no explanation. Viki has been getting very bad at this. It posts shows in the coming soon list and some simply never show up. No explanation. And there's the simply taking shows out of the list without any previous notice. What's going on there? The lunatics are running the asylum?
Great movie mixing Mojin, Candle in the Tomb and a sprinkle of Indiana Jones. The production was very good and direction and acting built a cool entertaining story. Only unremarkable part was the sountrack, which I barely noticed.
Good series that could had developed the story better. Acting was all over the place between very good and just passable. There was a good mix between humor and tragic scenes. However, some of the stuff he did, such as the blood transfusion was simply ridiculous. The end left a cliffhanger for a season 2 that apparently was shelved. Still, it's worth watching.
Nice xianxia. The story had some cheesy moments but the good ones made worth watching it. The main actors and actresses did a great job with the chemistry. I also liked the soundtrack. So, a good story, easy going and light.
Great production. The acting, direction and the story were very good, topped by an excellent OST.
The end was a bit on the imaginary side. The way the villain was always a step ahead, that pull with the empress and emperor giving full power to the inquisitor was a bit of a stretch. But, I guess the writer had to make a happy ending. Neverthless, a great story.
This series started very good and had some great humorous scenes. However, close to end, the writer and director probably got an arm twist by the CCP. It became an unecessary CCP propaganda that went way overboard because it spoiled good scenes. Anyway, acting in general was good and production also. It could have easily been an 8 if not for the excessive propaganda.
What a waste of actors and budget. The series started well but to the end it went way overboard. Someone probably put a gun to the head of the screenwriter and director and forced them to write that ending. They could have reached the same ending in a much more plausible way. That one seems wrtitten by a five years old.
In the middle of the second episode and completely agree. Looks like crap. It was already bad because they skipped…
LOL! Do you watch a whole series to conclude it's trash? I even tried watching episode 3 but it was simply too bad. On top of the highly compressed story (30 in the original vs. 8 in Netflix') the acting was really poor. In a nutshell, just another Hollywood trash. The Chinese version dances many circles around Netflix'.
For anyone that’s curious I’m 30 mins in to the first ep of the Netflix adaptation and I’m already bored…
In the middle of the second episode and completely agree. Looks like crap. It was already bad because they skipped a lot of important details. However, the hammered the last nail in that coffin when they put the typical hollywood woke crap into it. Not even sure I'll finish episode 2.
Excellent series on a similar line as Ordinary Greatness. Excellent production, story, direction, acting and phography. The soundtrack matched it well and made several scenes really good. It had everything just right: comedy, drama, the usual triangle, suspense, and so on. It's one of the series I'll definitely watch again.
Funny and lighthearted series. The idea is not original but the writer managed to pull a fun-to-watch twist on it. The actors also did a good job impersonating their roles, some very eccentric.
it could even take a month, I don't really know how it works but when I watched TBS' Fermat's Cuisine, also on…
Nothing yet on Netflix. There's something weird going on because it just released the Judge Dee series and all episodes that are not released yet have the release date already defined (as Netflix usually does).
Haven't checked the subtitles' quality yet, but so far seems good enough. Production looks good, but I haven't watched everything yet.
