I don't think he died. The writer likely wanted to show the ML not able to appreciate/be together with the FL because he was always coming from or going to some emergency. At least this was my understanding. However, I agree they could have done it much better.

OK series. Maybe the overall acting was the main culprit for it to leave somewhat to be desired. The story could have been much better developed, based on what I watched in similar series.

I haven't started watching yet. Waiting for all episodes to be available, since I usually binge watch the series I choose.

Did you check Subscene? It has the subtitles up to ep 7 in English and other languages. Not sure about this specific part, since I'm waiting for all episodes to be available or have a release date to start watching. Based on MDL, Japan should be on ep 8.

I found strange, since Netflix usually posts the release dates when it's not releasing all series at once.

Netflix US only shows five episodes and no info about upcoming ones. Anyone knows when the other six will be released in the US?

I don't see it in Viki's Coming Soon list. However, it's buried somewhere over there and only comes up is we search the title. Does anyone know if Viki will really stream it with Tencent?

I'm deciding whether to continue watching this series. Started really well with a very real portrait of the corporate world. Very funny and laughable moments but became repetitive after a while. So, still in the backburner for the time being.

I liked this series. Great production, good direction, acting and soundtrack. Some expected developments and one or two twists that kept me watching all episodes. Just hit the FF button on a few retrospective-filler segments. But that me, no patience to rewatch dramatic scenes. All in all a very good series that deserves a season two, for which they left the cliffhanger.

This one was bad. Bad acting, childish and boring story, and way too many fillers.
I remember the FL and the ML in other series where they did a much better job. Therefore, direction probably also left to be desired. Only got to the end by skipping more than half of the episodes and using fast forward generously.

Awesome series with nice plot twists. Very well produced, great story that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I also liked the acting and both FL and ML did a great job. The end left a thread open for a season 2 that I hope comes soon.

Added more comments under spoilers to not spoil for others. I liked how the writer twisted the plot from a sci-fi parallel universe to a criminal villain. However, why the Chinese make the villains really dumb? The conglomerate-CEO mother would never be in that position being dumb as that. He companies would had failed a long time before. Use the James Bond villains as role models. Much more credible.
Also, how could the FL still go to the tournament in that condition? The writer should not have stretched the story that much.

Nice story with some interesting twists and developments. The acting and soundtrack were also good (with a couple exceptions for the acting).

Agree. The production deserved better.

What was the writer thinking? Budget ended or he had strict orders to convert the production into a (cheap) propaganda piece? Lost some points there.

Started well. ML and FL had good chemistry and the racing scenes were nice. The story also went well until the last episode.
