Bank and Copter are serving the same kind of insistent sexual undercurrent that I last felt happening between Smart and Boom in the early stages of Top Form. Love it!
Before I could afford my first car, I bought a Suzuki motor scooter. I used to throw my leg over it and ride it for several hours every day. I’d like to think Serizawa might have a similar experience with his Suzuki, but after eight episodes and not so much as a dead fish kiss, I just can’t see it happening.
I can’t think how to classify this mostly-entertaining series because in my opinion it isn’t a BL. The male leads can’t figure out whether they’re gay, bi or straight and everyone else is a card-carrying hetero, probably including Rock the dog, the only onscreen character to receive any form of physical affection while not wearing clothes. Naturally, JBL’s usual intolerant father makes his appearance, obligingly dispensing with a presumed lifetime of homophobia in a few minutes of screentime. Nat and Sota spend most of their time together with very little or zero intimate interaction, so for me at least this show isn’t a romance or even a bromance - it’s more of a nomance. Even so, I still enjoyed the pleasant family vibe and overall rate it 7.5/10.
I’ve really enjoyed this series. The overall acting talent of its mainly young cast is, IMHO, exceptional. I want to single out Yugene in particular for the realistic way he portrays Putter’s emotional turmoil after Lee-ith tells him he wants to stop being his boyfriend and return to being unromantically involved with him. For a 15 year-old he conveys real depth of feeling, particularly with his expressive eyes. With only one episode to go I’m 100% confident that Class Crush Crisis will fully deserve my personal rating of 10/10.
Every month on this day, i make list of bl series and surprisingly every months there are tons of BL series and…
OMG Daddy, what a list! It’s clear that BLs are becoming so incredibly popular that it’s become impossible to check them all out every month. I limit myself to a maximum of two long episodes each day I watch BLs. I can’t mentally cope with many more storylines than that buzzing round my brain. Unless a series grabs my attention in episode one I drop it and leave it to sites like MDL to let me know if that was too hasty. Thanks again for your research.
I’ve just given this hugely entertaining new series a 10. I’d give Leng an even higher rating if I could. Apart from his very competent acting, he’s clearly been hitting the gym since we last saw him and is looking absolutely spunktilious. This once slightly-built young guy is now built like a brick Vej!
Boat, Oat, Alphas, Omegas and raging pheromones - I must have died and gone to Heaven. Phatsa passed on a donut because he was on a diet. I’m guessing he didn’t want people to start calling him Phatso.
Episode 4 is one of the funniest, best acted and well-written I’ve seen in any BL so far this year. Boss, Noeul and Cooheart are simply wonderful to watch and I love all three of them.
Does anyone else feel that Gem has matured physically into young adulthood while Fourth still looks much like he did in My School President? I know there’s only a few months difference in their ages but Gem can now convincingly play somebody years older, as he does in scene one of the first episode, while even now Fourth wouldn’t look out of place back in electric-blue shorts fronting Chinzhilla.
When I was a sexually-mature 15 year old schoolboy with raging gay hormones, I had the hots for a supply teacher who looked like a western version of Phuwin. He was in his twenties and the frequent fantasy object of the intimate relationship I had with my right hand at that time. While nothing ever happened between us, I would gladly have sacrificed my reluctant virginity if he had ever felt the urge to ‘groom’ me out of it.
My lust gradually faded along with my acne once I discovered my one true love on the first of several occasions, beginning when I was 17 and my boyfriend was 24. I have always fancied older guys and never once felt guilty about it. I have the strong impression that most of the objectors screaming their moral outrage here in capital letters and/or threatening violent deaths are applying hetero norms to same-sex relationships. Older gay men have had lengthy and successful, mutually consensual relationships with younger men throughout history, with no danger of pregnancy, although not for lack of trying. I love most Japanese BL’s, My Personal Weatherman easily being my No. 1 series of the year in 2023. Contrast isn’t quite as good as that, but well worth 8/10.
Duang With You is the best-acted, best-written, best-directed and most emotionally-affecting BL I’ve seen since Kinn Porsche in 2022. Teetee and Por are as close to perfect casting as it’s possible to achieve. I’d rate it a million out of ten if that was allowed. The repeat-watch begins NOW!!!!
