I did like season 1, although it was mainly for Shin and Asuka. I like my romantic leads daring, forward, optimistic…
Yeah - what is it with Japanese BL’s? They’re either really raunchy, with the main characters barely able to keep their hands off each other, or else they’re so repressed and paranoid they can’t do anything more than struggle aimlessly through episode after episode, communicating their unfulfilled passions in a series of almost inaudible, terrified squeaks.
If it’s not too late I suggest that Shin and Asuka, both of whom have continued to grow into really spunky young men, relieve their frustrations on each other with regular NC scenes starting as soon as possible. Far from keeping them waiting for months on end for some action, any typical gay guy like myself would have been unable to believe his luck and propelled either of them into the closest bedroom as soon as possible.
I’m currently re-watching this series and loving it as much as I did on its initial screening in 2022. I’m glad you can’t become diabetic from overindulging in eye candy, otherwise there’d have to be a health warning about Fluke’s dimples at the start of each episode.
Apart from the cooking scenes, the only thing of interest to me in this otherwise tedious series was learning that there actually is a popular African sauce called Shito!
I know I shouldn't, but I'm down bad for Thana & Time' s chemistry 🙈
Me too- if I was Thana, I’d forget all about pathetic Patis and head straight down that stairwell to the cute young guy with the Thai grass and more than one facial expression.
I don’t often watch BL series twice, but just had to with season one, I loved every second of it and, judging from the trailer, season two looks very promising. Like so many others commenting here, I can’t wait to see it.
After watching episode 4 of this fairly interesting series, it’s clear that the Thana/Patis relationship is on the rocks for sure. If this was a real-life situation, Patis constantly prioritizing his job over his private life would have driven somebody as hunky and desperate for a little NC action as Thana is straight into the arms of Time. Even if the café’s magic works in the remaining episodes, I wouldn’t expect any reconciliation to last more than a few weeks if this was happening in the real world.
I totally agree with those who say that Yim as Jade is great in this series, always entertaining and providing welcome breaks from the more dramatic areas of the storyline. I really dislike the nasty characters, a tribute to the excellent performances of the actors playing these evil abusers. It felt like I had been waiting forever for Bed Friends to be released. Net and James in NC action was all my poor fudanshi soul could handle. They were great, no need for a second couple when these two are in action. 9.5/10 from me.
With so many BL series now being released and nowhere near enough time to watch them all, my interest in this one ended immediately after laughing in disbelief at the pathetic first ‘kissing’ scene between the two males. I’ve felt more weight on my lips from a stray piece of Kleenex tissue than either of these actors planted on each other’s mouths. If performers are terrified of being considered as same-sex attracted, why the f**k do they accept roles in BL’s? In my fudanshi opinion, it’s OK to be gay for pay, but only if you intend to earn it by at least attempting to give a professional, convincing performance.
After initial uncertainty due to a confusing episode one, I’m really pleased I decided to stick with it and watch episode 2. The two main storylines are coming along nicely - the one-hour plus time slot flew by for me and I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Thana getting stoned in the stairwell with his cute younger neighbor is also adding a little potential spice to the mix. It’s refreshingly honest to see a Thai BL where, for once, the cast aren’t just getting constantly out of it on booze alone. It’s much more in line with the Thailand I experienced on vacation there.
Six episodes in and I’m wondering why I’ve bothered to keep watching this uninvolving, unconvincing series. I’m fudanshi and It feels to me as if it was made solely to cash in on the huge commercial success of the BL genre. Some truly great BL’s are being produced in Korea, this isn’t one of them.
The most unbelievable thing to me about the first episode of this fantasy series is when drop-dead gorgeous Thana is desperate to make love with his partner he gets knocked back with the same old “too tired” excuse that Eve probably used on Adam. If he’d had it off with the guy who shared the joint with him that would have made this over-long draggy opener worth watching for a few censored NC seconds at least.
I love this series, it’s funny, sexy and great fun to watch. Maybe it’s because I’m a gay man, but IMHO the haters who are heaping so much negativity on Haram have failed to register that Lee Jun is his team leader and could easily get this crazy newbie disciplined or fired if he complained to his superiors about him, but he does nothing at all like that. In spite of his apparent resistance, he’s gradually falling for this persistent spunk and has been from the moment he knelt down in front of him to tie his shoelaces. The truth of this is revealed in episode 4, so my recommendation is to keep watching.
Is this a BL or even a romance or is this Building Inter Office Relationships 101?This is so slow it's going backwards.…
Step by Step is the perfect title for this series. Four episodes in and it’s limping along like it’s got a sprained ankle. I can’t imagine too many office employees would come home after a stressful day at work and want to switch on and watch a show about a stressful day at work. A third of the way in and SBS is giving Check Out stiff competition for the title of the most tedious office BL I’ve ever watched. The mere threat of a further 8 lengthy episodes is just too much, I’m bailing out now.
I’m a gay guy who really loved the two episodes shown so far. It’s clearly not meant to be taken seriously, reminding me of what Hollywood used to call screwball comedies way back when. The script is fast-paced and funny and the two leads are both super-cute. Can’t wait for episode 3.
