They actually have good communication skills NH and SYM in the latest eps were trying to understand each other especially the scene where they are locked in a room. The way they address their fault and communicate well is in another level

Because he saw the other side of her when he was masked. He realized she trusts him and cares for him. She is a good person. Can't you see how she cares about everyone's life. Even though she is in a script and people might not even be real, she doesn't want them to die. Her actions towards Nan Heng is a result of her impression from the novel. Besides, we can't really blame her since Nan Heng also pretended to capture his masked self. No surprise FL would think he is evil. She also said she was at fault instead of Nan Heng. It's right that she treated them like a plaything at first but she figured that she could change the novel. From another side, she is as pitiful as Nan Heng because she is trying to survive too yet she is being thrown over like a plaything towards marriage she doesn't even want. The comedic atmosphere might make you notice this less but FL and ML are basically in the same situation
