I barely managed to finish this one...and only by fast forwarding through alot of the boring parts -- which were quite alot. I usually like Japanese movies that move slowly, but this one was slower than molasses and not particularly interesting.
This movie took dark and twisted to the nth degree. I don't believe I've ever seen such taboo subject matter explored in the way this film does it. While I applaud the writers and director for the courage to film this, the movie for the most part just creeped me out. Perhaps that's testimony to how fantastic the two lead actors did in their respective roles.
It says 29 episodes, maybe because it was a cell phone drama shown in 5 minute increments? It's actually just 5 episodes of 25 minutes each. It's slow paced with no dramatic romances, but I still found it entertaining.
Between the spider and the poop incident, episode 7 had me rolling on the floor, it was so funny! I love love love Siwon's character in this drama! Who knew he could do so well in comedic roles!
This was a pretty good drama. The writers did a decent job respinning a theme that has already been done. And leave it to Japan's quirky sense of humor to make the theme song about a nipple. lol.
I did however, have a slight issue with the person that played the wife -- Hasegawa looked more like the Tsukamoto's mother or much older sister, rather than a spouse. So the chemistry there was non-existent. Too bad - because that could have contributed to a better story emotion-wise.
And I found Chiaki's character a bit unrealistic--one moment the two leads are complete strangers and the next, Yuu is tagging along everywhere he goes, despite the fact that he is a married man with a child. Who does that? Anyhow, despite some negatives - it's worth a watch. And at only 5 episodes, you won't be sacrificing too much of your time if you dislike it.
I watched this years ago and never realized that Ha Jeong Woo was the main actor. I just rewatched it again and it was just as great as I remembered it.
I enjoyed it for the most part. I think the writers want to convey that people are just human. We make mistakes and are trying to live our lives the best way that we can. Unfortunately, we still hurt those around us, if they are unable to understand and accept our idiosyncrasies and negative character traits along with the good.
That said, I still wish more background on the lead characters had been given. All we were given were snippets of their past together. Like one of the reviews stated, a reason was never given as to why Hee Su needed her money back, or even why he was supposedly her 'dear enemy' (aside from not paying her back in a timely manner). Perhaps she never really needed the money and just wanted to meet Cho Byoung Woo again to gain closure. And the ending was a bit too bare for my tastes, but I guess if I stretch my imagination, I can gather more or less what the future had in store for the two leads.
Wow. Just wow. Truly a beautiful movie to watch. Don't think I've ever seen anything like it. Like another viewer stated, it has an anime/manga quality to it.
Seems like an interesting movie, but I could only find incomplete copies of it online---making it a bit confusing. But from what I gathered, the movie has a unique premise.
