It starts today and 2 people have rated it 1 and one person has rated it 10 ...what is wrong with you people??!!…
@sakura i did the exact same thing with oh my venus! lol i rarely rate a drama until its finished...but i gave it a 10 at ep #1 to help counter the 'ones' that were given before it had even started airing! once the show finished, i redid my score....but by then, the ratings like you said, had at least become more realistic.

some folks will rate it 10 in the beginning to balance out the ones who give it a 1...especially if the ratings start off kind of low and it's only episode 1 or 2....just to be fair.

Words cannot describe how touching and beautiful this movie was. Han Seok Kyu was fantastic as always. I had never really seen Lee Je Hoon in anything else before -- but wow...he's a really good actor. I think i'll go have to 'stalk' his other movies/dramas.

Person Kim Ji Soo
For anyone who's interested, looks like Ji Soo is also in the gender bender movie, Seoul Mates (2014). It appears to be a pretty interesting movie...and we get to hear our JiSoo speaking English. :) Too bad I can't find subs! I would add it to his profile, but it's a Filipino movie and MDL hasn't expanded its listings to this country yet.

yeah...when i saw the abandoned alley after they were all gone...my heart dropped too---i was so sad. and when i was watching bora and sun woo's wedding, i cried tears of joy---just as if they were my own family. sigh...i'm already experiencing 1988 withdrawal symptoms...but at least i have the subbed version to look forward to on monday!

HOLD ON WTH so they give sunho and bora the wedding and have closure with their relationship in terms of family…
@riiniemeanie my thoughts exactly. whose to say the main couple wasn't supposed to be bora and sunwoo to begin with? plus i think as the oldest daughter, bora's wedding would come first - which is one of the reason's doeksun didn't want to announce her relationship right away. at least that's what i think was being said since i only watched the raw version.

thank you writers for gifting us with such a beautiful drama. that last episode was gold and truly brought home the message that the folks living in samchungdong alley were a family from beginning to end. so many scenes were highly emotional --- i was seriously going through tissues like it was nobody's business. it made me reminisce about my own childhood and how you can never recapture those days. and the last few scenes truly solidified for me that this drama was always and truly about these five friends and how loyal they were to each other....makes me wish i had grown up in a neighborhood like that.

gotta love this series (and kudos to the writers) when the husband game sparks so much controversy. this time…
@Kawaitanee I agree that the writers should have made deoksun's feelings a bit more transparent earlier in the series, but they did provide hints (ie, in the way she cared for tk and certain facial expressions she made when he got too close) -- but arguably, those hints were sometimes too vague to interpret. in that aspect, the writers milked the husband guessing game a little too long. but i'm sure they did this for no other reason than to increase viewership/ratings.

but i believe the writers did a decent job laying the groundwork for ds and tk's future relationship. from nearly the beginning of the drama, they consistently highlighted how their bond had this special reciprocal vibe and comfortable camaraderie---that eventually and naturally blossomed into a romantic relationship. But I understand you, i myself was expecting a different outcome...but somewhere along the series i fell in love with both tk and jh. so i decided to just root for whomever doeksun chose.

gotta love this series (and kudos to the writers) when the husband game sparks so much controversy. this time around 75% of the drama focused more on the comraderie/relationships of the entire neighborhood and the coming-of-age of the five friends vs the love triangle --but some folks are clamoring on as if the ENTIRE drama was a complete waste of their time because their ship sunk. they've chosen to ignore how fantastic the rest of the drama/cast was. i get how disappointing it is to have your ship sink, but is that the only reason you watched this drama? i for one still think this was the best written and fully developed of the three Answer Me's. i'm just glad deok sun is finally happy and get's to be with the guy she loves. i mean seriously....her smile when she returned to her hotel room was priceless. #teamdeoksun

I agree that actors should contribute to indie style projects, but optimally the dramas they select should be well written. imaginary cat, no doubt has a very heartfelt and meaningful message, but the script is mediocre at best. and i guess that's why i feel seung ho's talent is wasted. not because he shouldn't have been in this drama, but because the writers could have put his acting prowess to optimal use by writing a better script and giving his character more depth (along with cho hye jung, whose character often felt contrived and distracting). This in turn would have lead to increased viewership, better ratings, and ultimately this would have garnered more awareness for the drama and it's endearing message. as a cat lover, the moments between jong hyun and bokgil were what made the drama for me, otherwise i would have dropped it.

I'm puzzled as to why Seung Ho committed himself to doing this drama. Perhaps he had a personal interest in the script or a favor was owed by his entertainment company. In the end, I feel that his considerable talent was wasted on this one. Aside from the adorable and heartfelt moments between him and Boggil, the rest of the drama was just so-so. Seung Ho did this role justice as expected, but I prefer to see him in heftier roles, like 'Remember' at this point in his career.

only trash did a cameo as he actually interacted with the cast members of answer me 1988. the scene between trash and na jung is a cut from episode 9 from answer me 1994. so go ara didn't actually cameo in 1988 -- at least not directly.

..............its Taekie isn't it..? If she still looks at the door after that confession... and the ring left…
yeah the hubby game is great in theory, but after a while it starts to take away from being able to focus on the actual drama. when compared to 94, i think the writers are doing a much better job focusing less on the love triangle/angst and giving us more character development and family/neighborhood dynamic. this time around they are also taking a more rational and thorough approach developing the two male sides of the love triangle, ultimately leaving us with the questions -- does DS love the boy she had a teenage crush on? or does DS love the boy she 'mother-henned?' at the end of the day, regardless of whether we think it makes sense for her to be with JH or TK -- it's her choice, her feelings. both are great guys. seriously....i wish i had her problem!

it seems like it's tk, but with these writers...you never know. i've always shipped tk and ds, but always believed ds and jh would end up together. so i'm kind of in shock after ep 18. i don't know what to think....is it another troll? are the writers planning a plot twist? but it kind of seemed like they were wrapping up jh's side of the love triangle when they did those flashbacks and confession--kind of like he was making peace with a love that wasn't meant to be. I guess we won't know for sure until next week. sigh.

It became kind of draggy at one point and then the end felt rushed. I get it: this was all about romance and health…
the drama had a great start, but it's middle and ending were mediocre at best. the writers could have done so much better. i agree with you -- if not for sjs and sma's incredible chemistry...i would have dropped it midway. instead i just fast forwarded -- alot.
