I read your review before watching. 15 episodes in and your words are really resonating with me. I mostly watch…
This drama was a disappointment all around, whether one goes in with expectations or not. But especially for those of us who were excited going into this
Really wanna watch this! More excited about Liu Hao Ren than HXM but the sibling love, the feels..im all ready for it !
Btw don't ever read the Dramafever synopsis if you don't want a major spoiler. They gotta do a better job with their synopsis description that always end up spoiling everything
This is a good drama with well written characters, but too "feel good" and underwhelming/lacking in creative fuel that keeps a thriller thrilling. Best thing bout the drama is without doubt the characters and the relationships, made the drama what it is. Still enjoy it for the emotions and heartwarming moments.
Summarizing my favorite thing about the show in two words: Woo Tak. And Mr.Choi.
Mr.Choi is one of those characters one will never recover from. While Woo Tak is like the puppy we don't deserve. He isn't just a likeable char , I don't think another actor would steal our hearts the way Jung Hae In does
Honestly none:( as someone who watches both Korean and Chinese dramas, the dubbing over Korean actors throws me off especially if I like their original voices. Dubbing in Chinese dramas I can barely tolerate unless done well and the mouth movements mostly match at the very least, so imagine when they don't. Also Korean actors look uncomfortable if not slightly out of place in Chinese dramas . The chemistry is always affected obvss cause they don't understand 90% of the dialogue cept their own lines
Besides MONEY being of interest on both ends, this thing with casting + dubbing over foreign actors is a pain to the drama viewing experience. I avoid these productions at all costs
Up to episode 11 and sadly this series doesn't seem to be getting better? The first few episodes were mildly interesting, the romance just wasn't written well enough to be believable (as someone mentioned - him and everyone in the household fell in love with his "enemy" a little too quickly) though chemistry makes up for it. The romantic moments were sweet, but the characters end up being annoying after awhile.
As a frequent watcher of Chinese dramas and having seen most of the dramas on that list , Sound of the Desert imo deserved a place on that list .
I LOVED Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (or Eternal love as listed on MDL) however the 58 episode length isnt exactly beginner friendly for most people who avoid Cdramas cause of lengthiness. But for those who don't mind longer dramas then it's totally worth seeing .
Another beginner Chinese drama I recommend is Prince of Lan Ling. And Go Princess Go as someone else already mentioned! Fluffy, hilarious and good pacing the 30 episodes breezed by
